At Alexander Rose we understand that good design is not just about the look of the product; it’s about the experience; how something feels, and how it makes us feel.

Everything we do is a combination of aesthetic design, functionality, and comfort. Working extensively with mixed materials and circular design ethics, the design team continue to develop beautiful, high quality, sustainable furniture.

Alan Morley

Began his career as a furniture draughtsman and cabinet maker in Brighton, England, before launching his own contemporary furniture design and manufacturing business in 1983.

As the resident designer since 2003 for Alexander Rose, Alan has developed many collections of innovative furniture that maintain the company’s position at the forefront of the outdoor furniture industry. Cordial, Sorrento, and Dana Lounge, are notable designs that have been internationally recognised.

Louis started at Alexander Rose in 2021 having completed his BA in Product Design at the University for the Creative Arts.

Since joining the company, Louis has co-designed 2 outdoor timber collections: Dana and Bolney and our new indoor collection, Trak.

Eager to pursue his passion for furniture design and craft, he is looking forward to creating many more exciting new ranges for Alexander Rose in the future.

Louis Radtke

Kvadrat Patio Outdoor fabric range is an upholstery textile developed for outdoors, which offers exceptional colour vibrancy. Designed by Karina Nielsen Rios, it is made with a highly durable, specially developed Trevira CS yarn.

A result of 3 years intensive research, Patio features a fluorocarbon-free, environmentally-focused finish, which is water-repellent and fast-drying. It also provides resistance against chlorine, seawater and artificial weathering and is flame-retardant. In addition to its technical features, it also stands out for being soft to the touch compared to other outdoor fabrics.

Patio is suitable for all outdoor spaces, as well as other areas, like spas and indoor pools, where high-humidity and chlorine are a factor.

Sustainability is incorporated into all our core values at Alexander Rose. An example of our commitment can be seen on the tick tree logo found on all our wooden furniture, as awarded by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council.) They’re an international non-profit and their small but mighty symbol represents the responsible forestry behind every piece of our garden furniture within our beautiful timber range.

For our wooden products to carry the FSC label, the forests from which we source our timber must meet stringent criteria, including compliance with all applicable laws & regulations, the well-being of all workers, rights of ownership for all indigenous people and the commitment to restoration of ecosystem services.

We source sustainable materials and work with factories that demonstrate fair and appropriate employee conditions. Wherever possible, the waste generated from our production process is recycled and our products aren’t unnecessarily over packaged.

Dana

Dana is our newest range, which proudly sits in our Signature collection of luxury garden furniture.

Our in-house designers were keen to create a mid century Danish design which proudly showcases elite joinery and workmanship.

Teak furniture is often bold and chunky. Yet the desire for our Dana range was to create furniture which would still benefit from the unrivalled qualities of teak, but with a far more elegant appearance.

The Dana seat pad is woven from a durable outdoor rope. With reference to traditional paper-cord weaving seen on Danish classics, the Olefin cord offsets the Teak, giving the chair visual harmony and balance.

Using FSC 100% quality Teak sourced from sustainable forests in Brazil, it’s incredibly hard wearing and durable and will weather and age beautifully over time. You also get a 10 year warranty with all Teak products.

The Kvadrat fabric on the modular cushions is water resistant so we supply easy to use waterproof shower-cap covers to slip over the cushions when not in use.

Plank

Our Plank range signifies strength, simplicity and practicality. Using tried and tested construction methods to create very striking, bold pieces of furniture.

The tables come in 2 sizes, 2.4m and 3.0m and the Teak top is made using 5 hand-selected planks, picked for their consistent colour and grain. The stretcher rail locates into the cross frames with a locking peg – a traditional joinery detail with a modern twist.

The benches are 1.2m long and can sit alongside the table, or as a standalone bench. Our favourite set up is to pair the table with 2 benches on one side, sitting opposite either our San Marino, Monte Carlo or Cordial woven armchairs.

Cordial

We wanted our Cordial collection to make a statement and to be a talking piece for our customers, and we’re confident it’s done just that.

Each piece of furniture is crafted from tubular powder coated aluminium frames, that have been handwoven with marine grade olefin rope with a soft rubber core. The rubber core means that only the surface of the rope gets wet during rainfall, and will dry out quickly – around 30 minutes in sunshine and a little longer on a cloudy day. The rope is manufactured to be able to withstand even the most inclement of weather and can therefore be left outside year round.

Available in either dark grey or beige 15mm rope or a chunkier dark grey or light grey 50mm rope. Cushions are available in a choice of 5 earthy Kvadrat Fabrics.

The dining chairs are designed to go with our Rimini dining tables with textured matt grey powder coated frames and ceramic effect coated glass tops.

Our show stopper in the Cordial range is the Lucy Chair. Available either hanging from a cantilever frame, or sitting on a base, this piece acts as a cocoon – a place for you to get cosy and experience ultimate relaxation.

Weatherproof Rope

The Cordial rope is made from Olefin – a weather proof, fade resistant fibre that can withstand even the most inclement weather. The rope has a thick rubber core, so only the very surface gets wet. This will dry out in the sun in half an hour (a little longer on a cloudy day).

This one has the option to hang from a sturdy cantilever frame so you feel like you’re cocooned comfortably in a snug, floating nest.

Low Maintenance

The grey, textured powder coated frames and ceramic effect printed glass are practically maintenance free –just wipe down with a warm, damp cloth and voila. The printed finish on the glass tops have been baked on at 700degrees to ensure they are completely scratch proof.

We teamed up with UK designer, Carsten Astheimer, to create the beautiful products within this quality range, which includes a modular sofa set with side and coffee tables to match.

The frames are made from powder coated aluminium and the cushions are made from Kvadrat, an excellent quality fabric which has deep roots in Scandinavia’s world-famous design tradition. We’ve carefully selected five earthy colours which look calming and sophisticated in any combination. The fabric itself is water resistant and there is a waterproof interliner surrounding the foam inside, so unwanted rain drops won’t have a chance to penetrate.

The San Marino range encapsulates a sunny, relaxing spot in the Mediterranean and creates a perfect setting for your outside space.

The entire range is manufactured by our team of weavers and welders, out in our factory in the Philippines, which is home to many of the best weavers in the world. Each item of garden furniture in the San Marino collection has been designed with modern aesthetics and ultimate comfort in mind.

The furniture is made from 3mm Red Pine Rose HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) fibers woven onto a sturdy aluminium frame, in a traditional basket weave style which still carries an elegant and contemporary style. San Marino cushions are made using Oatmeal olefin fabric and come with a two-year warranty. The Rose Fibre is long-lasting and 100% recyclable – it’s also highly durable, weather and UV resistant, making it the ideal choice for your garden or terrace, in all weathers.

Our Ocean Pearl range is made from a 7mm flat Pearl Rose weave, which is then hand woven in a traditional basket style pattern, onto a powder coated aluminium frame. This aluminium frame which sits beneath the weave and creates the structure of the furniture is thicker than the industry standard, and this is because we wanted durability to be one of the main qualities of this beautiful garden furniture.

It can be left outside all year round and it won’t fade as the weave is coloured all the way through - like a carrot rather than a radish!

We’re so confident in the durability of the Ocean Pearl range, that we also provide a ten year warranty on all products. Cleaning couldn’t be easier too - simply wipe with a wet cloth, or you can even use a pressure wash.

Parasols

Alexander Rose hardwood parasols are operated using a pulley and locking pin system. Simply pull the rope down to raise your parasol up to the desired height and place the brass pin in one of the pole holes to secure.

To lower the parasol remove the locking pin and slowly let the rope pass through your hands until the canopy is folded.

Luxe Hardwood Parasols

A twist on our classic hardwood parasol which has the same trusted pulley and locking pin system.

What’s different about this parasol is the addition of faux leather patches covering the canopy’s tips to reinforce the material.

The thickness of the parasol’s pole has been increased and has a single central pole making for an all-round sturdier parasol.

We recommend that the parasol is not left up in windy conditions. It is essential to use an Alexander Rose base to add stability.

Alexander Rose aluminium parasols are easily operated with a simple crank handle and have a tilt mechanism, allowing you to angle the canopy to

Cantilever Parasols

Our elegant cantilever parasols can be positioned to provide maximum shade. They appear to float above the furniture and can be manually rotated to follow the sun.

They are free standing, which allows you to position the furniture underneath rather than around a central pole as with conventional designs. The crank mechanism enables effortless use.

The parasols are made using lightweight durable polyester fabric which is water resistant and easy to clean. To clean your parasol we advise that the fabric is kept attached to the frame. For best results use a soft brush or broom and warm soapy water. For stubborn stains the canopy can be removed and washed at 30˚C.

Once washed it is important to put the canopy back on the frame to dry.

UH35

The UH35 is an 8 spoke 3.5m cantilever parasol. As with the UHP, the easy crank mechanism makes raising and lowering one smooth movement. The canopy

can be adjusted into 7 positions to give maximum shade from the sun.

Use with our UHGB90 granite base.

The UH35 comes with a night cover.

The UHP parasol is easy to operate with a simple handle and lock mechanism.

To rotate the parasol simply unlock the handle and move into the desired position, and then lock the handle to secure.

The UH30 is an 18 spoke curved 3.0m cantilever parasol.

It’s easy to raise and lower the canopy with a crank handle mechanism.

The UH30S is an 8 spoke 3.0m square cantilever parasol.

Ripstop Large Cushion Bag

Our covers are breathable and protect against the build up of dirt and ensure less furniture maintenance is required. The covers come with ties and cords for securing to the furniture. It may be necessary to place an object such as a bucket between the furniture and the cover. This will reduce the amount of sagging and will help the airflow around the furniture.

Furniture & Fabric Treatments

Over time, as part of the natural weathering process, cracks and splits will appear in your Teak furniture due to the evaporation of natural oils in the wood from exposure to the elements. This is a normal characteristic for any timber which remains outdoors. Our furniture is designed with this in mind and its strength and durability will be unaffected. Our Teak furniture can be treated with our specially formulated care products to give a beautiful finish and enhance the look of the wood.

To keep your cushions looking their best, clean regularly using our Fabric Cleaner. Dampen the fabric, spray the cleaner onto the affected area and leave for 3-10minutes, allowing it to work it’s magic. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. Add a layer of protection once dried, using the Fabric Shield – this adds a layer of water resistance and helps to prevent stains.
