Alan Grobler
Alan Grobler was born 18 April 1954, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Alan works in the medium of linocut printmaking and acrylic on canvas, and moves comfortably from architectural to conceptualized imagery. He has exhibited in numerous regional and overseas group exhibitions, and has held five successful solo exhibitions to date. He is represented in public collections of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, Port Elizabeth, the William Humphreys Art Gallery, Kimberley and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, Port Elizabeth. His poster design based on a linocut print of his which features the four corner stones of the life of Nelson Mandela, is included in the Official 95 International Mandela Poster Collective and travelling exhibition.
