360 Strange views around Nottingham

ou use photographs in your stories every day. They help bring a story to life in the way text can’t. [well, a photographer would say that, wouldn’t they!!]. With better, faster and cheaper mobile technology, journalists, documenters, story tellers etc are experimenting with panoramas to provide a richer photo experience. 360 Photography is a technique of photography where you use specialized equipment to capture the entire surrounding of a location instead of just one angle. There are many terms used to refer to this type of photography. It is often called 360 panoramic photography, VR (virtual reality photography), 360 virtual tours, 360 spherical photography, and more recently photosphere ( a term made popular by google because of the android app they created). Applied on a webpage, an online YouTube video and the like, you can use a mouse to look around a view as you desire. I thought to output some of my pictures using these methods onto the pages here. But as you can see, trying to get a 3D view onto a 2D page, results in strange and other worldy images ...... Cool eh!
