Avenue One Project Description:

Project Team:

Avenue One, the initial phase of a masterplan development, looks to establish and feature a prominent avenue. This modern development includes a five-level office building constructed with tilt wall and steel, coupled with a sixlevel parking garage hosting 629 parking spots. Within the office building, angled curtain wall facades showcase its architectural flair, while the space offers high-end interior finishes, a welcoming lobby, a fitness center, and a tenant lounge for all tenants.

My Role: Serving as the Project Architect, I led all coordination efforts among consultants to produce high-quality construction documents for the project. An unexpected challenge arose when the project was faced with cost escalations after being on hold. Taking a value engineering response, I took the parking garage from a fully cast-in-place concrete garage to a precast concrete structure and reduced the office building from six levels to five cutting costs to meet the updated budget.

My Role: As the Project Architect, I led the coordination efforts among various consultants, ensuring seamless integration of all systems. A unique aspect of this project was serving as the architectof-record, necessitating collaboration with a design architect. This collaboration also required consideration of Marriott’s and Walmart’s specific standards. My responsibilities extended to managing specific BIM requirements to deliver the project and meet the standards of both Marriott and Walmart.

Southwest Airlines: Flight Training Center Expansion Project Description:

Project Team:

The Southwest Airlines Flight Training Center expansion, situated at the Dallas Love Field headquarters, introduced eight full flight simulators (FFS), alongside supplementary offices, classrooms, and pilot instruction areas, increasing the campus total to 26 FFS. Extensive flight training and instructional space is located on the fourth floor above the simulator gallery. Additionally, there was a combination of a heavy MEP scope for the simulators and extensive interior design work for a pilot’s lounge and pseudo-event space, enhancing the center’s functionality and comfort for pilots and visitors.

As the Project Architect, I worked closely with a manager to deliver the construction documents given the extensive coordination efforts required. The uniqueness of this project stemmed from the amplified MEP coordination essential for the simulators and increased structural coordination, necessitated by the presence of dual roofs and tornado-proof walls. Additionally, the inclusion of artistic precast panels at a prominent entryway further distinguished this development. My responsibilities encompassed managing these complex aspects, ensuring precision, and facilitating the smooth production of construction documents.

Dallas County North Renovation Project Description:

Project Team:

During the pandemic, Dallas County prioritized operational continuity while implementing crucial modifications. A significant addition included a spacious entry vestibule, enhancing accessibility and safety measures for continuous public access. Furthermore, multiple new sets of stairs were installed in the atrium, facilitating single-direction traffic flow within the premises. In direct response to pandemic protocols, comprehensive updates were made to all courtrooms. These alterations were specifically designed to accommodate social distancing requirements.

In this project, I served as both Design and Project Architect with sole responsibility of coordination and documentation. Extensive code research was conducted, especially concerning the alteration of the atrium and other existing conditions. The addition of multiple stairs within the atrium required specific structural consideration, since they were cantilevered into the atrium space. Maintaining strict seals for smoke control from the atrium posed a particular challenge that required careful planning and detailing. Finally, the design and integration of the entry vestibule and canopy were exclusively my responsibilities. Tying into the existing exterior facade, this design element demanded seamless incorporation, balancing functionality and aesthetic coherence.

Victory Commons I Project Description:

Project Team:

Victory Commons is a 15-story, 383,000 square foot core and shell office building accompanied by retail spaces and an 8-story parking garage. The expansive parking garage is designed to accommodate 1090 vehicles, catering to the needs of adjacent American Airlines Center. The scope comprised of comprehensive site development, including architecture and interior design across all facets of this expansive development. This project represents the initial stage of a larger vision, constituting phase 1 of 3 mixed-use office buildings on this site.

My Role: My role encompassed in-depth involvement across various critical aspects of the project. Significant time was dedicated to specific aspects of the project including conducting openair garage calculations and site grading analysis. Additionally, I detailed interior brick elements, crafted design options for presentations, generated BOMA plans/calculations, and conducted studies aimed at expanding the building area (floor plate/levels). Finally, my contributions extended to intricate detailing across the entirety of the project for the production of construction documents.

Master’s Thesis: Artificial Intelligence in Structure Objective: Research and design a building where the structure could physically move and adjust to the natural elements in an effort to adapt and predict conditions. This would be achieved through utilizing the structural practices of tensegrity structures and advanced membrane facades.

14

The final presentation of my master’s architecture thesis was completed using Unity 5. I gave the formal presentation running the Unity 5 application displayed on a large TV. The presentation was a complete experience where the critics had the ability to navigate around the scene and interact with design elements while I presented my research on implementing artificial intelligence into architectural structures.

Combining Learning/Adaption, Kinetic Membranes, and Tensegrity Structures, yields a fully adaptive building structure the can evolve to its surroundings.

Architecture Vanguard - YouTube Channel Objective:

Analytics:

With a passion for exploring and sharing architecture’s technological advancements, the YouTube channel, Architecture Vanguard, was created in 2019. Its purpose is to share knowledge about current and future architectural softwares and integrations. Over 120 tutorials for Revit and 100 for Twinmotion were created, driven by the love for learning and the desire to assist others.

A Complete Guide to Worksets in Revit 88.1k views In this complete and comprehensive guide, you will learn how

to use Worksets in Revit. Worksets are like layers in AutoCAD or Photoshop but can be used in so many other ways. The power of worksets is seen when you split your model into different worksets based on your desires for visibility. I often have a main workset as well as a site and links workset. You could even take it further and include an interiors workset or furniture workset. The main reason for using worksets is to have more control over the visibility of large chunks of similar types of model elements. This makes documentation a breeze down the line because of all the organization worksets provide.

How to Import Models & Landscapes | Twinmotion 20.4k views In this video, you will learn how to import models into your Twinmotion projects. There are two types of imports at this time: geometry and landscapes. Numerous types of import file types are accepted by Twinmotion. This video covers an example of a landscape import as well as the three types of import options for geometry.

Complete Guide to ALL Visual Settings in Enscape 44.7k views In this video, you will learn about ALL the visual settings in Enscape. There are quite a few different settings which is why this video is so long. Watching this all the way through will ensure you know how to achieve the visual settings you are looking for in your scene as I cover all the adjustments and settings. This can seem a bit overwhelming but with time and practice, the settings will begin to make more sense.
