Know The Opportunity How To Sell And Deliver Successful Custom Projects

In-depth knowledge of basic Unika Vaev Ecoustic® products and the capabilities and technology of the Unika Vaev Design Studio will enable you to identify opportunities for selling custom solutions. A thorough understanding of the various sales channels for acoustic products will also be highly beneficial. It is important to recognize that the core Ecoustic® products represent a new segment in the market, integrating specialty architectural finishes, décor, and interior furnishings.

The First Line / The Front Line: Architects and designers (primarily architects) identify the needs and establish the specifications and budget parameters of a project. They continuously seek new and innovative solutions to meet the increasing acoustic demands created by hard work surfaces and open office spaces, while integrating these solutions with decorative opportunities.

Get Specified: When Ecoustic® products are specified by an architect or designer, whether as stock items or custom creations from Unika Vaev Design Studios, they will be included in the general contractor’s bid package as an interior finish rather than within the FFE budget. Consequently, these products will be incorporated into the acoustic, ceiling, or specialty finishes subcontractors’ RFQ submissions. This is a desirable outcome, as these categories typically have the largest production budgets. To date, this channel has shown the highest closure rate.

Pay Attention: The commercial furniture (FFE) sales channel experiences a low closure rate due to budget constraints, a lack of technical expertise, and the extended sequence of design decisions.

Qualify Early: The most challenging sale to complete is to the space owner or tenant after occupancy. Once construction is finished and furniture and fixtures are in place, a significant need for an acoustic solution is often discovered. Implementing a retrofit solution can be difficult due to: a) Limited or no additional budget for leasehold improvements, and b) Lack of personnel with the expertise to make the final purchase decision and place an order.
