Hey Cora, you see a lot of homes, and work with a lot of people, I bet you have seen some funny things, and had some interesting experiences. Signed Curious Customer Dear Curious: Well yes, of course! I mean you are dealing with people so YES! Here are some funny things that have happened, and if you were the one that was with me, I guess you can laugh or cry again! Kitty in the bed: I had made an appointment to show homes to a nice young couple. They were very excited about buying their first home. We had seen many homes. Nothing was “jumping out” to them, so to speak. We were showing 5 homes this particular day. The 4th on the list was next. Nice neighborhood, nice house. There was a car in the driveway, but that happens a lot. I have a habit of ringing the doorbell, then opening the door – yelling “HELLO, REALTOR to show the home!” Humm, no one home. So, we began to look. The house seemed perfect for them. It was close to family, close to work and quite nice. We went into the master bedroom and there was a black kitty on the pillow. I talked and showed them the benefits of the room and then walked in the master bathroom. As I turned around to say “wow, look at this bathroom” I noticed that the kitty wasn’t a kitty, it was the top of someone’s head! Sleeping in the Bed! With FOUR people walking around in there, talking and laughing! YIKES. My eyes got big and I quickly ushered everyone from the home just glad we made it to the door. But I could not believe that guy never woke up! Scheesh, I wish I could sleep like that! Anyway, my clients loved the house and bought it! “I May be Naked”: It takes all kids of people to make a world. But this one was kinda different. I had made an appointment to show the home, and this was when we would actually speak directly to the owner of the home, now we do it all online. But the seller told me “Don’t be early and don’t be late, because I may be naked!” Wow, now that’s some incentive be on time. So I politely let my clients know that we really, REALLY needed to be on time. And we were. I knocked on the door, hoping (praying) no one was home. I heard footsteps and the door opened and guess what? NAKED! I was on time! He laughed and said he “forgot the time” – hummm, ya right and said he would be out in a moment. My clients did buy the house – it was perfect for them, but I told them not to buy the furniture – I mean, well you know! “My Dog is Harmless”: Dogs are funny things. I mean, they have a job that they love and that is protecting their home. People just don’t understand that when they aren’t home, dogs are

going to act differently. I heard the dog in the house barking when I arrived with my clients. Now, this was my listing, so I knew this dog, we had visited and he even sat in my lap once or twice. When I arrived at the house, I asked my clients to wait in the car until I could get the dog put away. Now, this was one of those dogs that they use in Target ads, you know, full of energy! Before I opened the door I called his name, “Bronco”. He seemed to calm down. When I opened the door, he just lunged at me and in the next moment my entire hand was in this dogs mouth, halfway down his throat! If I would have been able to pinch my fingers, I could have done a tonsillectomy right there on this dog in the entry. He didn’t bite down hard, never broke the skin, but quite a slobbery mess. I managed to get my hand out of his mouth and grabbed his collar and shoved him in the garage. But it did scare me. I was glad my clients didn’t see it... and they did not buy the house! “My Dog is Harmless ll” Again, dogs are different when master isn’t home. I had some friends that I was working with to sell their home. They had got a rottweiler puppy a few years earlier and I had been hiking with this dog, fed this dog, played with this dog. Now, she was a big girl by now, her name was Sheila, and her name probably should have been SHE-RAH because she was quite buff and looked like a body builder! I had my friend’s home listed for sale, but I had to take a picture of something in the house for an out of state client. I got to the house and Sheila was outside in the yard. She barked her fool head off even though I talked to her. Well, I opened the door to the house and started downstairs to take my picture and, unbeknown to me, Sheila had the luxury of a giant, bodybuilder sized doggy door! She had poked her head through the dog door and was growling, baring teeth and using all kinds of doggy swear words to get my attention. This sweet little Sheila that I had spent so much time with on walks and hikes wanted to take my head off! I went outside and called my friend and he came home and put the dog in the car until I left. But the funny thing was, once by friend arrived Sheila the She-Monster turned back into a marshmallow! Sweet as pie! Really! One last one “It Was Here When I Left”: I was had an appointment to show homes that morning. Clients were ready, I was ready. I got to the house on time. But there was no house there. It was nothing but a pile of ash and smoldering rubbish! The house had burned down! Just that morning! The trucks were still there cleaning up the mess. Needless to say, that was not the house they chose!
