MEET JAMES HAVENS 2018 Alaska State Fair Theme Artist Artist James Havens is known for his monumental classic museum pieces featuring historical subject matter, his 1% For Art projects and Iditarod Trail images, and most recently his life-sized Alaskan dinosaur paintings and sculptural reconstructions in conjunction with the Alaska Paleo Project. A native of Bangor, Maine, James Havens attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and is currently based in Anchorage, Alaska where he and his wife Andi own the Havens Studio and Gallery, featuring the fine art of the Havens family. The Family Rest Stop, provided by Alaska Family Services, is a relaxed atmosphere for families with young children. Located in the south end of Raven Hall, it offers a quiet place to breastfeed, change diapers, or simply let the little ones play or rest away from the noise and activity of the Fair.

This year, we’re excited to offer fairgoers the ability to purchase Fair parking online in advance. Buy your parking permit online and print at home, then scan it quickly and conveniently at the entrance to the parking lot.

All of us here at the Fair love animals, but a friendly reminder that pets are not allowed on the fairgrounds. For the comfort and safety of your pet, we encourage you to leave your four-legged buddy at home or make arrangements with a local pet boarding facility. Please do not leave your pet in your vehicle. If there is a report of an animal in distress, welfare checks and rescues may be conducted by law enforcement officials.

There are no convenience fees when you buy concert and event tickets at the ConocoPhillips Borealis Box office during the Fair.

The Fair is a smoke-free facility. During the Fair, smoking is not permitted anywhere within fenced common areas of the fairgrounds or within 40 feet of the main gated entrances. DROP-OFF / NO PARKING FEES!
Drop off and pick up your fairgoers at the Green Gate without paying parking fees! Come in the Purple Gate drive-in entrance and follow the service road to the front of Green Gate. Drop off and then exit on Glenn Hwy. Access is from the Inner Springer Road at the north end of the fairgrounds and no parking fee is required to access the entrance area to the Green Gate.
