The Family Rest Stop, provided by Alaska Family Services, is a relaxed atmosphere for families with young children. Located in the south end of Raven Hall, it offers a quiet place to breastfeed, change diapers, or simply let the little ones play or rest away from the noise and activity of the Fair.

Home Free The all-vocal country band, Home Free, got its big break by winning the fourth season of NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2013. Since then, the a cappella group has released four albums, including 2014’s Crazy Life, which reached #8 on the Country Albums chart, and their most recent album, Timeless, which came out in 2017. The five-member band performs all-vocal renditions of beloved country songs, like their most recent single, Travis Tritt’s “Great Day to be Alive.”

Tower of power 50th anniversary tour Since forming in Oakland, California, in 1968, Tower of Power has forged a reputation as a band of high-achieving musicians fluent in all realms of soul, rock and pop music coming together with the sophistication of a jazz big band. The band, which includes the world-famous, five-man Tower of Power Horns, has 24 previous releases. The band is known for intricate funk classics such as “Down to the Nightclub” and “Soul Vaccination,” as well as heartstopping ballads like “You’re Still a Young Man” and “So Very Hard to Go.”

Slightly Stoopid The Ocean Beach, California-based band, Slightly Stoopid, is known for their eclectic, genre-mashing sound and unique collaborations with other artists. Now in their second decade of making music, the group continues to create energizing, multifaceted music that has been described as “a spiritual bath of positive party energy.� The band is getting ready to tour the U.S., plus a couple stops in Europe, on their How I Spent My Summer Vacation 2019 Tour.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 27 Join the Fair for a fun-filled day celebrating Alaskans 50+! The daily schedule is packed with entertaining, energetic, educational activities including the new Classic Car Show by Midnight Sun Rodders, virtual garden tours, senior joke and storytelling, and stop by the Events Tent where Palmer Renaissance Painting will be happening all day! Also don’t miss the 14th annual Alaska’s Midnight Sun Great Pumpkin WeighOff to see if we’ll set another new state record this year!

Aspiring ninjas of all ages are invited to train with top competitors from the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior! Get on the course and learn from top ninjas, including Alaska's very own Nick Hanson (Eskimo Ninja), Grant McCartney (Island Ninja), Jessie “Flex� Lebreck, Chris DiGangi, Ethan Swanson (the Daredevil), and Tiana Webberley (Sweet T).

Must be 6 years of age or older to participate. All participants must sign a waiver (children must have waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.) All participants are required to wear closed toed shoes.
