parsley, sage, rosemary and time...rosemary beach Kick back and slow down at Rosemary Beach, Florida.
ROSEMARY BEACH COTTAGE RENTAL COMPANY 888-855-1551 (toll-free) www.rosemarybeach.com
IF THE ABOVE reference were to one of
the herbs from which Rosemary Beach gets its name, the title would more accurately read “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme.” But “time” is what is quickly forgotten as you drive into this gulf-front community and exchange your car for a bicycle. Established in 1995, Rosemary
Beach is a classic beach town located on northwest Florida’s gulf coast between Panama City and Destin, at the eastern end of Scenic Route 30A. Inspired by other classic beach towns, the 107-acre community was designed to bring back the notions of community, neighborhood, and convenience. www.albabymag.com 33
family travel Families who want to catch up on some quality time together can find their own private haven at one of Rosemary Beach’s 206 rental accommodations, each with its own personality and theme. The flats, studios, carriage houses, and cottages range in size from 1,000 to 6,000 square feet, contain two to five bedrooms, and can accommodate up to 16 guests. Outdoor amenities at Rosemary Beach include northwest Florida’s worldrenowned beaches with dune walkovers to protect the fragile environment; four completed swimming pools; Rosemary Beach Racquet Club and clay tennis courts; bicycle, kayak, and Hobie Cat rentals; a 2.3-mile fitness trail with exercise stations; and a series of boardwalks for hiking and biking that lead wherever guests would like to go. Another unique characteristic of Rosemary Beach is its green spaces. Common “green” areas tucked throughout the town offer a great place for reading a book, playing an impromptu game of Frisbee, having a picnic, or simply enjoying time spent outdoors with friends.
THE COQUINA POOL located beach-side, is a negative-edge pool meant for lounging and relaxing.
COMMON “GREEN” areas are located throughout Rosemary Beach and provide places for reading, games, picnics and barefoot strolls, as well as outdoor events.

The town center, a five-minute walk from anywhere within Rosemary Beach, attracts residents and visitors alike to gather, socialize, and enjoy events such as the Summer Street Party series, West Indies Market, and other festivals and events. Included in this “downtown” area are most of the public buildings, such as the main offices, town hall, post office, restaurants, shops, and Solace Day Spa. DINING
Dining options are plentiful at Rosemary Beach. For a quick cup of coffee or a pastry, Starbucks is located on the ground floor of The Savannah building. The Sugar Shak, located in the Town Center, serves ice cream, malts, homemade lemonade, cookies, assorted candy, sodas, and even real sugar cane stalks for natural snacking. The Summer Kitchen, featuring sandwiches, pasta, salads, roll-ups, and a children’s menu, provides light fare for breakfast and lunch; the restaurant changes its name at sundown to
family travel “Blue by Night” for dinner service. Onano restaurant is located near Town Center and serves northern Italian/Tuscan regional cuisine in a casual setting. Wild Olives market, bakery, and deli features domestic and imported meats and cheeses, an olive bar, salads, dairy products, breads, and pastries. A full-service lunch menu is offered daily, and a small-plates tapas menu is available afternoons and early evenings. Finally, Courtyard Wine and Cheese is located in the Gourd Garden Courtyard, and features 50 wines by the glass and a wide variety of upscale wines from around the world stored in the only environmentally controlled wine store in the Panhandle. Gourmet cheeses from Europe and America are priced by the pound or served by the plate. The lush open-air courtyard is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese board.
Among the many options are The Rosemary Beach Trading Company, featuring logo-wear and gifts; Bamboo Beach (beach supplies and sundries), Bamboo Bicycle Company (bicycle rentals--an essential while at Rosemary Beach), Bamboo Surf (surfboards, skim boards, and beach gear), and Beach Buzz, with its trendy apparel including such labels as Juicy Couture and Miss Me. The one thing you can’t buy at Rosemary Beach but which is available in abundance is the chance to disconnect from the frantic pace of the daily grind and reconnect with life’s most important commodity--family.
