P L A N E S The purpose of this exercise was to make a spatial proposal for an intersection of a horizontal and a vertical plane. The result here is an ascent, which passes through different degrees of inclinations while rotating around the central point of the column. As the ascent progresses, the planes tilt more and more until they reach a completely horizontal platform. The space deployed resides both in the path taken and in the final area.

« The readers should be able to take the books and go to the light » Louis I. Kahn, 1991

9 The work was to propose a room for the future House one and this one had to contain a passage to a higher floor. The library / staircase here is an ascension area that contains books and moments of rest. Indeed, the books are stored in the shade of the walls which filters the minimum amount of light. Once the pedestrian has taken a book, the path guides him to the light and the sloping walls allow him to sit comfortably to read it. Several routes are possible between light and shade, between movement and rest.

House 1 is an experimental architectural installation from a design point of view and collaborative from a construction point of view. The project is supervised by ALICE (Atelier de la Conception de l’Espace; directed by Dieter Dietz) and carried out by all the young architects in their first year. House 1 is based on an all-wood proto-structure, which adopts a cubic shape (11m*11m*11m). Each group of students focuses on a House 1 room and develops it from design to construction on site.

The project has its origin in two aspects: on the one hand, the distribution of domestic spaces must assume a circular form such as a ÂŤcrown of spacesÂť; and at the same time, the house must meet the needs of a cook. Here, the dining room looks like a theatre stage, a place where you can discover the dishes while the kitchen, like the backstage where everything is prepared, remains hidden behind the thick walls. Even if it is imperceptible to the spectators, the kitchen retains its essential role and marks its strong presence by wrapping the dining room around the entire perimeter. Ground floor plan

The purpose of this project was to develop a building from the word «waterfall», and by spreading the main information of the project using Chris Ware’s graphic codes. Here the building houses a museum and recalls the waterfall in the passage it proposes between two entities as well as by the fluid sequence of spaces.

Chris Ware is an American comic book author who uses a very precise graphic language to tell his stories. Without the help of words, he employs graphic codes used in architecture such as all kinds of axonometries, zooms or interior views when piercing buildings.

T H E S W I S S C H A L E T Study of Swiss vernacular architecture by surveying a chalet located in Val d’Isere. The work included the survey of plans, sections and four elevations, the making of models, but also an understanding of rudimentary wooden construction methods and detailed drawings.

The restoration work on the typical buildings of the Testaccio district in the south of Rome began with the survey of the faรงades and the identification of the damage they showed. Then, it was a question of proposing suitable methods to restore these facades and to suggest through the drawing (below) a hypothesis of a renovated facade in accordance with the historical and cultural context.
