Premier League 2022/23 kicks off

The new Premier League campaign kicks off on August 5 with a mighty match between Crystal Palace vs Arsenal. With 20 top football clubs battling it out for the coveted prize, clubs are ready to join in the action.

Whether watching it pitch-side or from the comfort of the clubhouse, the thrilling Premier League season will play out on the world stage, watched globally by around 3.3bn people, as the top teams battle for the number one spot.

A WinterWorldCupwillseetheactionbroughtto a halt mid-season, with match-round 16 being the final one played (November 12/13) before players head off to Qatar to play for their country. It then resumes in style on Boxing Day, concluding on May 28,withallmatcheskickingoffatthesametimeonthe final day.

In other news, a note-worthy change is the return of five substitutes rather than three. The three substitutes rule was instigated when the league reconvened post the Covid-affected 2019/20 season, but in March this year Premier League sides voted in favour of bringing back five subs on a permanent basis. At the same time, the transfer season is well underway (June 10 – September 1) with Arsenal fans welcoming Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City and Fulham hailing the arrival of Andreas Pereira from Manchester United, all making for some fascinating conversations at the club bar.
