From the President

Our lives are measured by various moments. My time serving in The Junior League of Montgomery has been filled with numerous moments of learning, friendship, laughter and defining moments. Those defining moments shaped who I am today, impacted my life and will endure in my memories, hopefully forever.

The Junior League of Montgomery had many fantastic moments this year. We held all of our fundraisers in person, giving our members opportunities to manage real-time operations of events, and we were excited about each fundraiser’s attendance.

College & Career Night brought in new educational and employment booths. Holiday Market also had new vendors with the favorites and added some fun night outs we hope to continue. Women’s Leadership Summit continued providing fantastic speakers and training sessions, and Rummage Sale had a line waiting to get in the doors.

Our Community Placements built a sensory room at MMFA, served women and children with their needs, hosted cultural and community events, assisted with tax preparations, helped teach tennis to participants with physical limitations, and made many done-in-day donations and 49 baskets for Baskets of Love.

Every time our members serve the community, we hope to create defining moments for someone else.

My service time has allowed me to grow professionally and personally and to help elevate others in their lives. I do not doubt I would be who I am today without joining JLM in 2008. I gained so much from our dedicated women who give their time to assist others and our community.

The Junior League of Montgomery is going into its 97th year with a fantastic President, Ashley White, and the 98th year to follow with President-Elect Quenita Mitchell. The current and upcoming Boards and JLM members have excellent leaders to guide them through the constantly evolving journey of volunteering.

I could not have made it through the past two years without all of you, and I am grateful for your time. Thank you, JLM Members, supporters, and my patient spouse.
