Aldo Lombera (Mexico, 1990)
He studied a Bachelor in Composition at Centro de Investigación y Estudios de la Música (CIEM) under the tutelage of María Antonieta Lozano, José Julio Díaz Infante, Enrico Chapela and Víctor Rasgado, graduating with the titles of Fellow and Associate in Composition (FLCM) and (ALCM) and Licentiate in Music Literacy Theory of Music (LMusLCM) by The London College of Music, and also Licentiate in Composition and Music Theory by CIEM. He has participated in workshops conducted by Hebert Vázquez, Ignacio Baca Lobera and Luca Belcastro, as well as in the Diploma Course in Composition for Film, Theater and Dance of Núcleo Integral de Composición (NICO) conducted by Enrico Chapela, Enrique Mendoza and Andrés Franco. He has won national and international awards such as the First Place in the International Contest “Nuestra América” (2012), the Award to the Best Work of Latin America in the International Contest “Zvi Zeitlin Memorial” (2014), the Winning Work in the National Composition Contest for Percussion Ensemble (2013), the Winning Work in the National Composition Contest for Symphony Orchestra “Ciudad Sinfónica” (2015) Honorable Mention in the “Manuel Enríquez” New Music International Forum Composition Contest (2015) and the Second Place in the National Composition Contest of FEMSQ (2013). He was also selected to represent Mexico in UNESCO´s 2014 International Rostrum of Composers in Finland and as a grant recipient of PECDA-FOCAEM 2014 and 2015 in the category of Young Artists. His music has been performed in Mexico, Spain, Chile, Colombia and the United States by interpreters such as the José White String Quartet, the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet, Tambuco Percussion Ensemble, Baquetofonía Percussion Ensemble, Irvine Arditti, Beatriz Elena Martínez, Cynthia Martínez and the Michoacán Symphony Orchestra, among others. He also collaborates with different artists, writing music for theater, dance, film, performance and popular music.
