Near its capital (whose historical center preserves its original path, like a chess board) is located the archaeological site of Monte Alban (the most important military and religious site of Oaxaca’s Valley, and which reached splendor between 500 BC and 800 AD), and nowadays the state of conservation of this old city is so good that you can still imagine the daily street activities or the temple ceremonies. These ancient splendor reflexes allow Monte Alban to wield the title of UN’s Cultural World Heritage.

Naturally, another of its treasures is the traditional textile art, which gives identity to the towns and regions of Oaxaca (actually, the image shows an example

of the exquisite handling of the loom, resulting in beautiful and colorful clothing). Also to be mentioned is the expert craftsmanship which, together with imagination, brings forth attractive chimerical figures, like the famous Alebrijes. Or the food, coming from a fertile land, and which once prepared with exquisite recipes, competes fearlessly against world cuisine.

If it has been written that Mexico is made of many “Mexicos”, Oaxaca is the most illustrative example of such a statement: because of its complex terrain, the region offers beaches of wonderful beauty and great appeal for waves’ adventurers: Puerto Escondido is a paradise which draws the attention of surfers from around the world, converting the beach into their final stop after touring a region that deserves to be called “Horn of Plenty”.

The Palace City Luxury and modernity of the oldest metropolis in the Americas The Mexican capital, called The “Palace City” by the writer Carlos Fuentes in his book The Most Transparent Region, proudly holds the nickname, since from a pre-colonial past until now, its streets cast beautiful architectural gems that tell a story of immeasurable value.

Some examples of these attractions are the Palace of Fine Arts in Art Nouveau style, which was created during Profirio Diaz’s term to spread the finest man-made creations; the National Palace, whose construction began in 1522, was the residence of Hernán Cortés and has been the headquarters of political power; the very French like building that shields the National Art Museum and its fine collection of works, or the famous Chapultepec Castle, where figures of royalty lived and which was the scene of historical events, are amazing because of their legacy.

But the palaces of today’s Mexico have other names and a quite different purpose than the one of these older constructions: the new multifunctional buildings contain in the same space shopping centers, housing complexes and luxury hotels, with all the gadgets visitors can enjoy during their stay.

Además, el interior de estos recintos que encierra un delicioso estilo de vida que fascina tanto al turista como al habitante de la imponente urbe. Algunos ejemplos de estos atractivos son el Palacio de Bellas Artes, en estilo Art Nouveau, que fue creado durante el porfiriato para difundir las más refinadas creaciones hechas por el hombre; el Palacio Nacional, cuya construcción inicio en 1522, fue residencia de Hernán Cortés y ha sido sede del poder político; el muy afrancesado edifico que resguarda al Museo Nacional de Arte y su estupenda colección de obras, o el famoso Castillo de Chapultepec, donde vivieron figuras de la realeza y fue escenario de capítulos históricos, no dejan de asombrar por su legado.

Pero los palacios del México actual tienen otros nombres y una función muy distinta a aquellas obras de antaño: las nuevas edificaciones multifuncionales contienen en un mismo espacio centros comerciales, complejos habitacionales y hoteles de gran lujo con todos los gadgets que disfruta el visitante de este tiempo.

más de dos años de que la emblemática aerolínea mexicana dejara de surcar los cielos, hoy se ve más cerca que nunca la posibilidad de irse a la quiebra.

Declarar en banca rota una empresa de estas dimensiones no sólo sería un duro golpe a la competitividad de la economía mexicana, sino que amenaza con convertirse en un problema de índole social, pues con ella desaparecería una gran cantidad de empleos directos e indirectos, sustento de miles de familias.

Así, no son los números rojos de una aerolínea que no supo administrar su riqueza lo que alarma a los especialistas, sino los mexicanos de carne y hueso que verán destruido su estilo de vida.

El inicio de un viaje final Como un cuerpo que agoniza, el corazón de Mexicana de Aviación dejó de latir el 4 de agosto de 2010, cuando en medio de fuertes rumores sobre los malos manejos financieros de la empresa, se imprimió el último pase de abordaje.

Al mismo tiempo, la presión de empleados y autoridades por saber la causa de la crisis que había paralizado todos los vuelos, rebeló un diagnóstico terrible. Despilfarro de los altos ejecutivos, poca disciplina administrativa, inversiones mal planificadas y un sin número de irregularidades que hasta el día de hoy permanecen bajo un manto de opacidad, arrojaban una deuda que se había vuelto imposible

de pagar por la empresa: mil 325 millones de pesos con Banorte y 780 millones con Bancomext.

Ante la crisis, la empresa aeronáutica pidió entrar a concurso mercantil en busca de nuevos inversionistas que le inyecten un flujo fresco de capital. Conforme a la ley, la juez rectora de este proceso para devolverle la vida a Mexicana, dispone una serie de requisitos para quienes busquen adueñarse de la empresa y evitar la declaratoria de banca rota; el más importante de ellos, demostrar solvencia económica y la disposición inmediata, tangible y demostrable de 300 millones de dólares, cantidad que servirá sólo para pagar las deudas con empleados, proveedores y la banca comercial.

wo years after the emblematic Mexican airline stopped soaring the skies, today it looks more than ever likely to go bankrupt.

For a company of these dimensions to declare bankruptcy would not only be a blow to the competitiveness of the Mexican economy, but also threaten to become a social issue, because with it, a great quantity of direct and indirect jobs would disappear, thus the livelihoods of thousands of families.

Therefore, not only the red numbers of an airline that failed to manage their wealth alarms specialists but also Mexicans of flesh and blood who will see their lifestyle destroyed.

The beginning of a final journey Like an agonizing body, the heart of Mexicana de Aviación stopped beating on August 4, 2010, when amid strong rumors of the company’s financial mismanagement, the last boarding pass was printed.

At the same time, the pressure of employees and officials to know the cause of the crisis that had paralyzed all flights, revealed a terrible diagnosis.

Mismanagement of funds from senior executives, little administrative discipline, poorly planned investments and a number of irregularities that to this day remain under shadows, setting a debt that had become unaffordable for the company; one thousand 325 million pesos with Banorte and 780 million with Bancomext.

In the crisis, the aeronautic company asked to be filed into insolvency in search of new investors to inject fresh capital flow. Under the law, the judge that proceeds the process to bring Mexicana back to life, has a series of requirements for those seeking to take over the company and avoid declaring bankruptcy: the most important of them, to demonstrate financial solvency and the immediate tangible and provable disposal of 300 million dollars, an amount that will serve only to pay the debts to employees, suppliers and commercial banks.

// Located in the Zócalo, right in the center of Mexico City, from where today the ruins of what was the most important building of the Aztec Empire can be seen, in which the religious and political power was focused, in addition to having the job of channeling the energy of the Universe and communicating the forces of the underworld with those of the upper world, which was where the gods lived.

The pyramid side measuring 82 meters high and 45 meters wide consisted of two temples (one dedicated to Tlaloc and the other to Huitzilopochtli) in which the victims were sacrificed in relevant ceremonies.

Mil y un paraísos bajo el sol // La costa de Jalisco tiene playas que son dignas de un sueño y se intercalan con lugares creados por el hombre para tener el mayor confort posible frente al mar.

El destino más famoso de tan atractivo lugar es Puerto Vallarta: un pueblo tan típico y como pintoresco que, tan sólo al mencionarlo, llegan a la mente las imágenes de comida deliciosa, atardeceres románticos, actividades acuáticas, golf, tardes de spa y noches interminables en un torbellino de alegría.

Esa franja costera es visitada por gente de todo el orbe, pues además de su excepcional belleza natural, fueron creadas amenidades para un turismo que busca mucho más que sólo buenos servicios bajo el sol; la región tiene, en su categoría, muchos de los hoteles más destacados del mundo y, como plus, dicha infraestructura es caracterizada por la discreción.

Por ejemplo, la Bahía de Tenacatita se caracteriza por su privacidad y es allí donde los visitantes pueden olvidarse del resto del mundo durante su estancia mientras gozan de entretenimiento ilimitado, mientras que en Careyes la arquitectura evoca las construcciones tradicionales que predominan en las islas griegas y es un santuario para las tortugas marinas, por lo que la gente participa en la recolección de huevos o ve a miles de pequeñas tortugas regresar al océano que les dio la vida.

Es decir, la costa de Jalisco es un lugar donde brota la vida, y un ejemplo de esto sucede en la Bahía de Chamela, que es única por contar con islas en su interior que albergan varias especies silvestres. En ese ámbito, de vida en su estado natural, también vale la pena conocer Cabo Corrientes, que cuenta con las playas Las Ánimas, Quimixto, Yelapa, Caletas, Pizota, Chimo o Villa, y su principal característica es la existencia de selvas vírgenes, ríos o albercas naturales; allí se pasea, con toda calma, a caballo o se practica el buceo y, por las noches, la paz y múltilpes comodidades reparan la energía empleada durante el día para, al amanecer, seguir disfrutando del placer creado para el turista.

Al respecto, Hernández Ramos aclaró que estos planes darán inicio en primavera y, junto con la pista de turismo de montaña, el proyecto del parque temático tendrá el nombre de Azul Extremo. Asimismo, dio a conocer que la empresa ofrecerá servicio de restaurante todos los días en la Taberna La Cofradía, un bar con capacidad para 500 personas en la parte subterránea de la fábrica tequilera y, acerca de la ampliación del hotel, aseveró que esto permitirá poseer treinta nuevas habitaciones, lo cual se sumará a la plataforma publicitaria del certificado Tesoros de México, cuyo perfil abre las puertas para captar turismo de gran poder adquisitivo, al que pueden ofrecerse tarifas superiores a los 250 dólares por noche.

Con mayor apoyo detonarían con más fuerza diversas regiones // En una glosa, donde fueron tratados aspectos que impactan en la economía del Estado de Jalisco, quedaron sentados varios puntos para seguir haciendo de Jalisco un punto fuerte para el turismo y la inversión en varios rubros.

El acto, realizado el pasado 19 de febrero, estuvo presidido por los diputados Ricardo Rodríguez Jiménez, quien dirige la Comisión de Desarrollo Económico, y Gustavo González Villaseñor, Presidente de la Comisión de Turismo, así como los legisladores José Luis Murguía, Idolina Cosío Gaona, Jaime Prieto Pérez, Salvador Zamora Zamora, Héctor Pizano Ramos y Juan José Cuevas, entre otros más.

Los diputados reconocieron que Jalisco creció en el desarrollo económico, competitividad y promoción de rutas turísticas, pero también externaron que aún faltan realizar acciones que hagan detonar el desarrollo en varias regiones y en reposicionar a Puerto Vallarta como el primer destino mexicano de playa.

En dicha reunión fueron abordados temas como el impulso a la economía de los municipios, inversión estatal, la Ciudad Creativa Digital, las causa de por qué Puerto Vallarta llegó al tercero en mejor destino y la importancia de construir la segunda pista en el aeropuerto de Guadalajara.

En el tema de Promoción Económica, Jalisco

es una región para atraer inversión nacional y extranjera por tener mejoras significativas en infraestructura y, como prueba de esto, la inversión extranjera creció en Jalisco un 149%, la nacional en 98% y 20% la mixta.

Respecto a la Ciudad Creativa Digital, el titular de la Secretaría de Promoción Económica destacó que Jalisco es un socio de dicha Asociación Civil, el proyecto tiene 100 millones de pesos etiquetados, está en proceso la creación un plan de negocios para operar lo que sería el primer polígono con tendría fibra óptica, museo digital, escuela y calle con servicios de Wi Fi. Respecto a la importancia que tiene Jalisco al posicionarse en el sector aeroespacial, el funcionario indicó que Jalisco firmó un convenio con la Agencia Espacial Mexicana e hizo énfasis en la importancia de promover la ciencia, tecnología y desarrollo de software.
