Writing SMOKED SALMON DIP

URBAN ALLURE: TAIPEI

A CAPTIVATING CURTAIN CALL

AN ALLURE THAT COMMANDS PRESENCE

There are times when it becomes too much of a hassle to continuously snip copious amounts of smoked salmon on bread.

Unlike most cities in the world that tout their grandeur monuments and elaborate structures to tourists, Taipei extends her arm in a more personal and heartfelt manner.

Established in a quaint corner of a park in Ann Siang Hill, Kki ケーキ (pronounced Ke-Ki) is a FrenchJapanese style patisserie serving beautiful cakes in a modern chic setting.

When opulence meets constructed sensibility, Evoque Victoria Beckham Special Edition is born. It never takes you by the wheel, but by its senses. Made dapper and bold by scrupulous craftsmanship, Evoque Victoria Beckham Special Edition establishes a sensual resolve with its matte grey body. Its unique Terrain Response system takes you across urban labyrinths and the great outdoors.

Therefore, we came up with a variation that is undemanding and apt for your crispy morsels. This luxurious condiment is perfect with any crunchy snack. 100g Smoked Salmon, chopped 250ml Sour Cream 3 Tbsp Spring Onions, chopped 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (A large squirt) 1 Tbsp Paprika Sea Salt & Pepper Combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl and allow the mixture to sit for one hour to allow the flavours of the smoked salmon to permeate into the rich sour cream.

It’s in the tiniest alleys, the pintsized bars, the miniature boutiques and the spectacular array of cafes, restaurants and eateries that Taipei brings to the traveller the true spirit of urban life.

In fact, it is a dual store concept, selling desserts next to a concept store (The Little Dröm Store) that specialises in vintage cameras.

:::::

The owners of the shop, Kenneth Seah and Delphine Liau opened the store in January this year.

It wasn’t until I was lost among the thousands of congested alleyways in Taipei did I fully tcomprehend the beauty that the city encompasses. A visual mish-mash of chic cafes, boutiques sandwiched between harsh and gaudy Brutalist period skyscrapers, Taipei represents one of the most sensible and remarkable cities to visit.

While away on a honeymoon in Tokyo, the couple visited cake specialists and were inspired to set up a boutique bakery in Singapore. The couple are fond of the idea that cakes bring a certain joy to the person who eats it . “We wanted the customers to buy the cakes as gifts because we believe that cakes make people happy”, said Ms Liau. The bakery echoes the “less is more” minimalist concept, similar to the décor of the cake shops in Japan. The attention to detail is intriguing – white porcelain squares, art pieces, snowball chrysanthemums and pine installations adorn the interiors.

To debut at the Beijing Auto Show W4 Land Rover Hall. (Collaboration)
