INTRODUCTION This portfolio comprises seven selected industrial design projects, to give a thorough idea of how I think as a designer. Many of the projects have an important social-cultural goal, because I think design is an improvement factor in our society. I consider myself a hard worker and practical designer, willing to learn more in the future and very proud of all the designs in this portafolio.

DRAGON

Based in the products of the toy brand BRIO, I designed this Dragon that compared to the “pull along”-toys of this company is bigger, more colorful and as it rolls its head moves up and down. All the joints were made with sticks interconnecting all the pieces, so that the toys movements are rhythmic and funny for the children. Academic project Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, 2010

MONSTERS IN THE KITCHEN!

This project was built around the work of the foundation “Nutrinfantil”, and its labor of giving a better nutrition to low-income children in Colombia. Working with the children and some activities I did with them gave me the insights for this design. The product “Monsters in the Kitchen!” proposes a set of kitchen utensils and recipes to motivate kids between 6-10 years to take part in culinary activities. The project was intended to have a bilateral social impact. On the one hand, the donors could learn how to eat healthier. At the same time, as the project’s revenue was intended to fully support the non-profit organization, the children associated to Nutrinfantil would also directly benefit in regards to their nutrition. AJELA “SEOUL CYCLE DESIGN ‘10”

Urban furniture made of steel that works as a bench and as a bike rack; using its curves (concave and convex) for these two functions. The form also permits an easy access to the bikes. This project participated in the Seoul Cycle Design Contest to promote the use of the bicycles in Seoul, Korea. Academic Project Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, 2010

UZO: SISTEMA MOBILIARIO

This project aims to solve the needs in a teenager room in one single furniture system. It has three specific modules for the three main activities of the target group: dressing, studying, resting-entertaining. SOFA INVISIBLE

I designed this sofa by thinking about the small apartments of young people, where there´s not a lot of space for storing. It presents a simple and comfortable structure that allows to be filled with all kinds of objects, saving space and giving a very light look. Its dimensions can be changed and customized with different colours of wood, and fabrics. It is designed to be assembled easily at home, thus making it affordable for this target group. ABS 2014

SUSTENTO

This team project was the result of an interuniversitary workshop. We worked with the aqueduct of the city of Bogotá on the topic of environmental preservation. The “Humedal la Conejera” is an ecosystem in the city, little known to the public and therefore receiving little care. We designed a new experience for the public to foster its preservation. The trail takes into consideration the ecosystem’s fauna, flora as well as the history of the indigenous that once populated the place. Academic Project Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, 2010

Table and chairs in solid wood which by the insertion of many plains in to two main plains presents a clean and simple shape. It was designed as a request of a family to replace their plastic exterior furniture and to be manufactured between the possibilities of a small wood workshop. ABS 2013
