GENDER NEUTRALITY
AM6 BIG6 U6 OUS
am·big·u·ous adjective (of language) open to more than one interpretation; having a double meaning. Color is no longer described by a simple one-word adjective; we speak of it in matter and volume, shape and texture. Organza and organdy gain momentum, bringing sophisticated, transparent materiality to clean, tailored silhouettes. Plain weaves, natural silk and cotton, or synthetic (polyester) compositions. Draping featherweights and rigid heavyweights within layered silhouettes. Fancy organdy and organza with abstract prints, silicone rubber flock prints or embroidery. With the introduction of synthetic surfaces and the popular image in the 60’s and early 70’s, ready-made colors symbolized reality and resembled colors of packaging, billboards, comic strips and magazines. In contrast, today’s contemporary yellows are reflective and acidic, green is an interpretation of the edible, drinkable greens of the organic movement, blues carry the effervescent quality of rendered water, and oranges are based on exotic fruits such as papaya and kumquat. The demure palette and soft lighting are comforting while still edgy. The ambiguous focuses on pastel colors and mixing pastel pieces with soft and hard fabrics to create something feminine yet edgy, and chic at the same time.

A MOR PHOUS 6
6
a¡mor¡phous adjective without a clearly defined shape or form People have learned to discern color perfectly, using it to curate their own identities and brands, interpret individual cultures and portray an array of skin tones from the deepest ebony to the creamiest alabaster. Translucent fabrics are setting the tone for a myriad of designer for men, women and children. From transparent, techy windbreakers to see through couture fabrics, this new trend is now clearly visible (literally) The exhibitionist take on transparency has evolved to a less shocking, more sensual and sophisticated fashion interpretation. Gauzy and net-like fabrics emerge via a multitude of innovative weaves and material layering, bonding or paneling. Rigid thermoplastic polyurethane becomes supple, and silicone materials add a rubberized touch. Clear resin based materials are key for up-to-date trims and components for fashion and accessory collections.

AN DRO GENOUS 6
6
an·drog·y·nous adjective partly male and partly female in appearance; of indeterminate sex. While some see this color movement as a revival and return to the 70’s and early 80’s rekindling of the pop movement, these newer tones influenced by a digital time frame where light, video and the Internet give them a translucent and mutant quality.

“…the colours and the shapes (of nature), but above all else, the energy and primitive strength it is capable of unleashing. Something much stronger and more powerful than you.” – the strongest and most powerful version of oneself. - Andreas Nicolas Fischer-

When the apocalypse happens, will we still be able to look good? Layered to perfection, you’ll find an array of denim jackets, dark, distressed and even a mint colored denim jacket paired with equally varied styles of jeans. Even the jeans that are torn beyond what I’d normally consider wearing in public look great. Avatar is a denim homage to “tomboy style.” Of course jeans play a big part in that “tomboy” style for everyone and any occation.
