The aim of the project was to come up with a creative solution for KEA E-concept development targeted to the prospective students. The target group is aged between 21-30. The following will explain creative process of group 3. The solution had to be based on the six statements given:

Stay open-minded Use the world as your playground Freedom to be bold Stepping stone to your dreams Boiling down crazy ideas to sustainable solutions Growing professional network

MINDMAPPING

INSPIRATION In order to get inspired we started mind mapping about the subject. As the subject was KEA e-concept development we started writing down words that associated to us with KEA. Afterwards we started picking out the words that we thought described us KEA the best way. We ended up with six words:

BOLD INNOVATIVE FRESH UNITY ENGAGING DIVERSITY

IDEA GENERATION

To gain ideas we started looking around the web and gathering ideas. In the process we decided upon using collage as our design guideline in order represent the diversity of KEA. As well we went for a walk with team and took some photos of the things that inspired us on the way and that fitted with our design principles. Then we started putting together the mood board so that all of us would be at the same page. We used pictures that we had taken on the walk. We used different textures and colors from the pictures. Later on we used some of the pictures in the collages of the postcards and posters.

COLOURS

The colors chosen to use came from the idea generation walk that we took with the team. On the way we found interesting graffiti with nice color scheme that appeared fresh and young. As well the main colors purple and green complement each other well and the secondary colors black, white and different shades of grey make a great contrast.

FONT

While choosing the font we followed the design principles. We wanted to use something fresh and bold. We thought that the chosen font was very modern and fitted well with our overall concept. The font was simple enough not to interrupt the overall design yet it catches the target groups’ attention. We decided to use League Gothic as it represents our design principles.

DESIGN

For the design we took some photographs of different body parts of our team to use them later in the collage. The purpose of that was to represent the diversity and at the same time the unity of the people in KEA. We made the images black and white to make it fit the color scheme and to add contrast. As well the pieces of the collage will catch the targets eye as at first the viewer might not understand what is on the picture but on a closer look he/she realizes that it is a body part. This will make the target more curios about the design. In addition we used images of different textures to diversify the collage. After that we started sketching for the layout of the postcards, posters and the website. We decided use geometrical shapes in the collages in order to make it look structured and keep it clean. We were inspired by the modern art that we also used in our mood board.

TEAMBUILDING

In order to strengthen our team and learn about our team members we carried out several team building activities. Every day during the project our team had lunch together and one day we went all together inspiration hunting outside. We walked around and took photographs of things that inspired us as a team. Furthermore we carried out different team building exercises to freshen up our minds.
