What is GRID
Women in graphics
GRID is the result of the purpose to create a museum with specific characteristics: - to be a museum of graphics - to be virtual even before real - to be international - to be a neutral container to be filled each time with a number of exhibitions of different artists.
This year GRID has decided to show several female european artists of differents fields of graphic, from illustration to photography, to promote the female approach to graphics. This collection is available in the section women in graphics.
Aim
The museum will appeal to lovers of art and design, but outsiders, interested in a new way to experience the exhibition spaces. Designers, architects and students. Schools, cultural associations.

Paula Troxler is a graphic designer based in Switzerland who mainly works in the fields of illustration. 1981 born in Willisau, lives and works in Zurich 2001 – 2006 studied at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design, Specialised in visual communication with a course of studies on Illustration 2003 6-month exchange semester in Leipzig with Prof. Volker Pfüller 2007 5-month illustration stay in Ethiopia in conjunction with Caritas Schweiz Since 2006, working as a freelance illustrator in her own studios in Lucerne, Berlin and Zurich Since 2011 substitude Professor in Mainz / D OVERVIEW WORK Illustrations for various newspapers and magazines in Switzerland and abroad (die Zeit, brandeins, Werkspuren, Kulturmagazin, Sonntagszeitung). Poster assignments for the theatre and cultural events (Jugentheater Willisau, PHZ Luzern, Integral, bonjour madame), CD Covers, Political flyers (SP Lucerne , Juso Zurich), Book publications (Walde+Graf , Caritas Schweiz and exhibitions ( Grafik 12 Jungkunst 2012 / Kunstmai 08 / Schau!fenster Dez 09) Cooperation with other graphics studios and advertising Crafft, onlab Loglan, bivgrafik, meier&kolb.. Illustrations for various newspapers and magazines in Switzerland and abroad (die Zeit, brandeins, Werkspuren, Kulturmagazin, Sonntagszeitung). Poster assignments for the theatre and cultural events (Jugentheater Willisau, PHZ Luzern, Integral, bonjour madame), CD Covers, Political flyers (SP Lucerne, Juso Zurich). “Drawing has always been my passion. [...] I never start sketching on computer. I believe hand drawn sketches give me the possibility to try out different ideas as quickly as possible. [...] A significant difference of creating images for magazines or posters is that the image of a poster needs to convey the message in a much quicker way. On the other hand, in a magazine the reader is mostly confronted with both images and text at the same time. Therefore the illustrator is able to express her/his feelings in a much more free and poetic manner.”
