Hey Key Clubbers!
You are currently reading KL Key Club's first newsletter ever the Burgundy Blurb, written by yours truly. First off, I would like to say that I am extremely excited for this upcoming year. KL Key Club is becoming more and more active within our division and community; getting in touch with our fellow Div. 32 dragons and the PNW district . For the next month, we will be trying to plan as many volunteer activities as possible to ensure that everyone has a chance to serve. It’s going to be amazing so stay tuned! Your favorite editor,

AND NOW A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT Hey Key Clubbers! Let me introduce myself (again haha). I’m your Kentlake Key Club President of 2014-15, Zia Wanalista. I’m currently a Senior and 17 years old. Some of my hobbies include hiking, biking, really anything outdoorsy, reading, watching films and shows with my siblings. The things I love most in this world are my fam bam (including my dog and ferret), traveling, green tea, Ottis Redding + his Pandora station, puns, and of course Key Club. I just wanted to say a few words to you all just so we are all on the same page. After DCON (District Convention), I have many goals and ideas that I want to accomplish this upcoming year. As I said before, I plan on increasing the members and participation of this members and have a variety of volunteer opportunities. This upcoming year, I really really really want to get to know everyone and make sure you guys feel the love. Key Club has so far been a beautiful experience and I want to make sure it is for you too. If you have
any questions/ concerns/comments don’t be afraid of asking me! I want to know what you guys have to say. Most importantly, if you guys ever want to talk about anything, not even related to Key Club, I am always here!

WHAT’S This Fall
National Public Lands Day Sep. 27th 9:00 AM The east ridge trail at Lake Fenwick Park has some of the most spectacular views in the city. We'll spend the morning pruning back the trail and giving invasive weeds the heave-ho. Water, snacks and tools will be provided!
ReLeaf @ Clark Lake Park Oct 11 9:00 AM—12:00 PM Park at East Hill Maintenance Shops, 12607 SE 248th St. Shuttle vans will take volunteers to the site. Remove some blackberries and reedcanary grass that came back. Then we'll plant low groundcover. Last, we'll blanket the entire area with wood chips to insure we suppress those pesky invasives.
