What makes Alexander House special? Simply put, there is something a little bit different, and very special, at Alexander House. We are truly delighted to be able to share it with you to make your day truly special. This is all about you, your amazing day, and making really special moments as a couple.

We offer you a very warmest of Scottish welcomes to this truly magical place. With simply astounding views of an ever changing landscape and skyline, somehow our location just captures your heart. Our guests often say they feel that they’ve left a little piece of themselves here at Alexander House when they depart, just so they can come back again!

This has always been a place to rest, recharge and celebrate success and happy occasions, especially for the tired drovers coming over the back hill from Edinburgh on their way to and

from selling their cattle in Stirling and Perth, stopping to stay in the old steading, and we are sure they enjoyed more than just a glass of the amber nectar, as there was an illicit still just over the hill at one of the waterfalls!

This magical house was rebuilt in 2009, to be shared, and enjoyed, and has been a place full of laughter and family gatherings, and with something for all ages, it is your very own home from home, to celebrate a wonderfully special moment in your life.

ALEXANDER HOUSE IS SET HIGH ON THE SIDE OF THE OCHIL HILLS, WITH SIMPLY SPECTACULAR VIEWS OVERLOOKING GLENEAGLES, AND THE GOLF COURSES BELOW US, ACROSS TO THE SIDLAW HILLS IN THE WEST, PERTH AND THE HIGHLANDS TO THE EAST, AND NORTH ACROSS AUCHTERARDER, AND THE WHOLE OF STRATHALLAN TO CRIEFF AND THE SMA’ GLEN, THE GATEWAY TO THE HIGHLANDS.

The Main House 4 acres of grounds are comprised of gardens and formal lawns, wildflower, and gorse banks, with wonderful options for your outdoor ceremony, and several children’s play areas, and when hiring our marquee, there’s a further 10 acres of fields & woodland.

Our astonishing views provide the most magical of backdrops for your wedding photos, and even in mists and rains, there’s spectacular backdrops wherever you look. Whether it’s bruised skies with scudding clouds, woodland walks or seemingly miraculous sunsets over the hills and Highlands.

Although utterly traditional outside, inside Alexander House, you won’t find any dark wood panelling or Scottish baronial tartans, AH has a much more comfortable country contemporary feel. You will find crisp white walls, and crisp white linens, bright and airy rooms, with comfy furnishings, and although we do still have the traditional cosy open fire in the drawing room, at the very heart of the house is

the vast kitchen living space, with 5 sets of double doors leading onto the front terrace to watch the magnificent sunsets, and a private south facing courtyard with covered heated swimming pool, and hot tub, the ideal places to relax with the family in the times before the main celebrations.

The main house offers 8 comfortable double/twin/ family bedrooms, most en-suite, including a simply

stunning bridal suite, beloved by photographers and hair and make-up artists alike, with light from both north and south streaming in through 6 large windows.

Elopement and Intimate weddings up to 18 are perfect in the Main House. The Dining Hall seats 18 in real comfort, and the kitchen seats up to 30 for a more relaxed gathering. *Please enquire for intimate wedding pricing, as this differs from our Exclusive Use pricing.

Our fabulous glamping offers another little twist. Our stunning yurts and lorries offer luxurious, but cosy spaces. All have outdoor wood fired hot tubs, for that night-time stargazing after the festivities, comfy beds, with marshmallow duvets and pillows, wood burners or central heating, mini kitchens, and en-suite bathrooms, some with

clawfoot baths! These romantic spaces are set a little way from the main house, and are perfect places to have an utterly incredible honeymoon, or for your guests to really enjoy their 2 night stay with us to the full, and reconnect with each other, and nature. In total 26 adults, and a few children & doggies can stay. Parking can be provided for up

to 3 campervans, at the bottom of our driveway. Most importantly, it isn’t just your human friends and family that can come to the party! We love our furry friends, and wouldn’t be without them, so feel free to bring your dogs too. (We do limit the numbers slightly, just to keep our wildlife safe).

It’s Easy Being Green

Set high up on the edge of the Ochils, we have the best of both worlds - Auchterarder just 3 miles away, and the patchwork fields of the Strath spread out like a quilt below us, but nature and wild hills all around us. We are proud of being green, with our Green Gold from the GTBS, our private borehole water supply, ground source heatpump, wood burners and wood fired hot tubs, filled with wood from the farm, and local suppliers, solar panels, eco friendly toiletries and fixtures and fittings, we work hard to always think about the world around us.

In Gaelic Doigh Nadair means The Way of Nature, so join us in embracing doigh nadair. If you are lucky enough to share your space with a wee furry friend, or a gentle spider, spy one of our shy young deer, or one of our cheeky wee red squirrels, take the time to marvel at how stunning they are! Or just enjoy watching our hill hares boxing and playing. We love all our wee beasties, big and small.

We are your hands-on help. With planning, with organising, and with running your stay, and big day, smoothly. We provide all the boring bits, leaving you to all the fun parts – the décor, the wedding feast, and choosing your guests!

You can book just The Orangery, or you can book our onsite accommodation too, self catering, or fully catered, the choice is yours.

In our Orangery our Bar & Food Partners must be used for all food & drinks purchases, however, for our Intimate Weddings & Elopement weddings, you are fully catered for, including your wedding feast, and you are welcome to BYOB.

Our couples would normally be expected to pay the initial 33% deposit for their booking choice, a further 33% 6 months prior the wedding, and any final outstanding balance 3 months prior, however, your guests are welcome to book

accommodation in our bespoke Couples Area, where you can set your own accommodation pricing for your stay, guests can add on specific extras they may wish to add. All accommodation payments taken through this area will be deducted from the interim or final booking balance.

And alternatively, since so many of us already have the things we need from the old traditional wedding list, you may wish to ask your guests to buy you gift vouchers towards the cost of your venue, as their wedding gift to you.

We’ve been hosting family holidays, glamping and weddings here for more than 10 years, but we’ve really notched it up now, with our glorious new Orangery.

Alexander House, our Marquee Lawns, Orangery & Glamping offer spectacular panoramic views to North, East, West, to the Sidlaw Hills, The Highlands and across Strathearn over Auchterarder, The Lang Toon, which was made a Royal Burgh in the 1200’s by King Alexander II, after whom the house is named.

Set in the very heart of Scotland, perfectly accessible from all of Scotland, and easily from abroad too, you will find Alexander House just 3 miles from Gleneagles, just off the A9, between Perth & Stirling, 1 hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, just over 2 to Aberdeen and Inverness. There is also a direct train from London Kings Cross to Gleneagles in just 5.5 hours, or to Stirling in 5 hours, where you can easily pick up a hire car.

the orangery Weddings & Ceremonies

The Orangery is ideal for up to 80 guests. The underfloor heating will keep you toasty in winter, and you can throw open the doors on a sunny day. Your ceremony can either be held in the Orangery, on the Terrace in front of the Orangery, or outside on the lawns surrounding the house, if our Scottish weather allows, with drinks either on the lawns or terrace. Or for smaller ceremonies, the drawing room in the main house may be available.

The Orangery is a 3 day hire, from midday on the day of arrival, to midday on the day of departure, with guest access from midday to midnight on the day of the celebration, which gives you plenty of time to decorate with friends and family.

We also include tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery and linens, gold moon arch, PA system, speaker system, & multi coloured lighting system for you, so all you need to do is provide as much, or as little of your own décor as you’d like!

Our bar & food partners are also on hand to provide your fabulous in house bar, and delicious meals, from food trucks to 10 course tasting menus, tipples in a TukTuk, to the Gin Fizz Pony trailer. We can provide menus and packages to suit all budgets.

The Orangery can be booked on it’s own, or you can also book accommodation for up to 26 adults, (and a few children and doggies!) in the main house, and our Glorious Glamping should you wish Exclusive Use. The house offers fabulous getting ready spaces and a brilliant spot for a pre-wedding family get together. We can provide the accommodation self-catering, or fully catered, the choice is yours.

The house, grounds and views offer wonderful spots for your wedding photos, with great light in all the rooms too, and our yurts offer the most wonderful and unusual honeymoon and guest suites, (if you can tear yourself away from the master suite in the house, that is!), with your wood fired hot tubs for a spot of star gazing too.

Choose from a fabulous traditional canvas pole tent marquee, with panoramic clear windows towards the views, wooden flooring, tables and chairs, and festoon lighting, with portable PA system. Or choose gorgeous giant yurts with wooden floors, or tipis, with rustic flooring and firepits! Or a mix of all three! The choice is yours.

Your ceremony can be held either inside or outside the marquee, depending on our glorious Scottish weather! With ample space around the on the marquee lawns, ceremony seating can be set up to drink in the views, or simply for drinks and nibbles outdoors, with some lawn games to keep everyone amused through your photos (they do take a while!).

We offer you the use of the Marquee Lawns, for up to 5 days to put up the Structure of your choice, with access for guests on the day of the celebration, from midday with

carriages at midnight, for up to 120 guests. We also provide cute shepherds hut toilet trailer, 40 amp power supply (charged per unit), water supply & gorgeous Lorry Thistle for 2 nights, for 2 guestsperfect to retire to on the night of the wedding.

Additional accommodation for up to 24 further adults (and a few children and doggies!), is available in the main house and our gorgeous glamping, and can be booked either self-catering, or fully catered, the choice is yours!

Intimate Weddings

Small is intimate, small is cosy, small gives you all time to enjoy each other’s company and really make the most of your time together. A leisurely soak in the hot tub, or dip in the pool, a relaxed wedding where the kids can play, those who might need an afternoon nap can retire for a siesta, and the schedule is all yours to decide.

Alexander House offers 5* luxurious, catered accommodation for up to 30 in our 8 main house bedrooms, and our gorgeous & quirky glamping accommodation, comprising cosy 2 ensuite yurts, and 2 converted horse lorries, and of course 4 dogs are welcome in the main house, and a further 2 in our lorries, all set in 3 acres of lawns, grounds and woodland.

Your ceremony can be held anywhere you choose within the grounds, or house. Whether it’s in front of the roaring fire for a cosy winter wedding, or on the front lawn on one of our sunny summer days. Your wedding feast can also either be served in the vast entertaining kitchen, for a more relaxed feel, where you can also watch your chef work their magic, or round the circular table in the dining hall, for a more formal feel, with drinks and canapes outside on the terrace, and lawns, or in the kitchen or drawing room.

Our staff will ensure that your own drinks are unpacked, popped into the fridges for your arrival, and kept topped up through your stay, and our chef will provide a relaxed arrival supper, breakfast, light lunch, your wedding feast (from a choice of menus), and a full Scottish brunch on the day of your departure (to blow those cobwebs away!).

All you need to do is order your drinks, choose your celebrant, decor and those that you want to spend this special occasion with!

Your wedding with a real difference - your room with a view for just the 2 (4, or 6) of you, fabulous food, no fuss, no bother. Our staff (& the highland cows!) can be your witnesses, or you are welcome to bring your closest friends or family.

We offer 2 night midweek Elopement stays, with your delicious food brought to your glamping unit, and your ceremony and celebration on the deck or in Willow, our cute BBQ hut. Imagine cooking your own wedding feast over the hot coals, watching the sun set over the hills, then toasting marshmallows over the embers. Truly romantic, truly memorable.
