Theoretical models and conceptualisations lie at the core of every design. Research and analysis precedes any intervention. Projects often focuses on human scale interaction. There is a will to engage the end-users in the design process. Sustainability is important as a complete ecological understanding of the costs and consequences of architecture, and seldom easy to grasp. Has a poignant sense of responsibility. Respectful and patient. Said to have high fortitude and work ethic. Strong in investigating, analysing and developing concepts into architectural projects. Possesses a broad spectrum of digital tools.

WALKING What is the simple act of walking, and what can it be in the contemporary city? Through rigorous research and experimentation, a conceptual model of walking was developed into a tool for mapping and design. It was then applied in a design project in London, uncovering hidden layers within the city.

When the crowds get larger, individuals matter less, even are noticed less. They all melt together into one shape, one idea. Walking past someone in a crowded square is much less personal than if it is only us two.

The TEC houses exhibition areas and supporting functions for the Mudlarkers of the Thames. It takes the current site and its synthesis with the building into great consideration. The interstitial areas examine potentials for public spaces. The design incorporates the flooding Thames to create dynamic, changing spaces. It brings the dirtiness and unpredictability of the river into the controlled London city-life.

SCENTS A project that investigates the scents in our surroundings. The result is a scent library, but it is more about the approach to the building than the building itself. It is a sequence of small interventions that modify the scentscape, strengthening and emphasizing the natural experience rather than manipulating it.

4

ZABBALEEN The class went to Cairo, to study and map a society earning their living by collecting and recycling garbage. The resulting project is a street performance as an intervention against the everydayness, made to promote spontaneous, extra-ordinary and intimate encounters in an otherwise routinized and alienated environment.

PILGRIMAGE The home is where you define yourself, and where you temporarily distance yourself from the rest of the world for perspective and reflection. This home is a former youth center, refitted to contain an information center and six small apartments. It is a sequence of spaces where the connection to the outside world is diminished and finally lost. It is a pilgrimage towards separation and reflection.

Public space in northern Sweden faces many problems. The outdoor climate is harsh during most of the year. One simple element, the pole, was analysed in relation to climate conditions of sun, snow and wind. It culminated in the development of a parametric algorithm generating configurations of poles responding to these climate conditions and producing new, protected spaces
