Our goal is to create a true picture book of our time in weed. I am excited for the future of this magazine and I am even more excited that you are reading this today. Camper’s guide to
outdoor e have been making love under the stars for a lot longer than we have not been. In fact, even today some people can’t help but get naked in nature for a steamy session under the full moon and stars. Pitch a glorious tent and spark a fire with our simple guide to some of the most incredible, enjoyable outdoor sex you have ever had!
Pack Your “Tent Pitching” Kit • A Cannabis Infused Lube, like Foria • Latex-free Condoms • Moist Sanitizing Wipes • Towels and Breath Mints • Cannabis, Lighters & Plenty of Munchies • Plenty of Blankets & Pillows You should always have these things with you if you are planning on enjoying cannabis infused sex in the wild. To the untrained fornicator, one simple slip up could lead to a less than spectacular outdoor experience.
KNOW YOUR POSITIONS
Rocks under your knees, hitting your head and pressing your ass against the tent walls can make your romantic get away a little lack luster. Based on our experience here are the best and worst positions for camping sex:
“
Best Positions for Camping Sex: Spooning - Sensual, magical spooning.... Is that a flashlight in your pocket or are you happy to see me!? Reverse Cowgirl - You’re camping like a pioneer woman, make love like one! Yee haw! Worst Positions for Camping Sex: Doggie Style - This could be tough on the knees unless you brought a solid foot of cushion for the pushin’. Sixty-nine (69) - You’ve been hiking so obviously this isn’t going to be pretty for either of you.
ENJOY SEX RESPONSIBLY
There is nothing worse than getting caught like a wild animal during a session of primal outdoor sex. We recommend keeping it in the tent or finding an extremely intimate and remote location. Having sex in public is considered “public indecency” and should always be pursued with great caution and care. It is NEVER ok to have sex where any children might see.
ENJOY LOVE OUTDOORS
Sex and camping doesn’t have to be a nitty gritty ordeal. Utilize those sanitizing wipes and breath mints so you can truly enjoy your primal lovemaking experience. If you are camping next to a body of water, take a quick invigorating dip after your love session to wash of the dirt and dirty. Send us your sex and camping stories @foxandnug #sexandcamping
You’re camping like a pioneer woman so make love like one!

THE DELICIOUS DISPOSABLE VAPE PEN BY NEOS
W
ith the legalization of recreational marijuana came a new found freedom from oppression regarding the research and development of better cannabis products and delivery methods. Some companies take this freedom a little more seriously than others. In their unrelenting endeavor to lead the EVOlution, Neos released their new disposable cartridges this week and they are unbelievably tasty. You can now get Neos’ disposable vape pens in a variety of flavors like Clove, Strawberry Mint, Grape and Pina Colada. But Neos didn’t stop there. In addition to the new flavored cartridges they released a very tasty high CBD, low THC disposable cartridge as well.
Neos has demonstrated a profound desire for manufacturing the highest quality EVO and developing the most enjoyable and inoffensive way to consume cannabis. With the release of the newest disposable cartridges we can see that they are onto something quite incredible. We haven’t seen a disposable CBD cartridge quite like it on the market yet, and it is a promising advancement for cannabis products available to the public. With more and more people coming to the table every day interested in enjoying the benefits of cannabis without the spacey high, Neos is addressing the need with gusto. We fell in love with the Strawberry Mint THC cartridge right away. All natural flavors, zero residual solvents and passion for quality all come together for the sweetest, smoothest finish. Our favorite part about using the flavored carts is that it is literally the closest thing you can get to being responsibly discreet. The flavors hide the cannabis smell, and to the untrained eye or nose it smells and performs like other commercial E-Cigs. A word to the wise: Do not hot box your disposable! We know it hits great and tastes great but abusing it will lead to hotter temperatures inside and outside of the pen. Send us some photos of you enjoying Neos outdoors and we just might give you a shout out! #liveneos and #foxandnug Enjoy Your Summer & Recreate Responsibly from your friends at Neos! August 2015

makin Lemonade I
n this world we live in we find ourselves met with interesting scenarios which will either make or break us. It is our job to predict the way things will play out based upon our actions. We can lay down and take it, or we can choose to make some lemonade. I’m sure most of you have heard the phrase, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!” Many times, trying to make the best of a situation seems beyond our reach. We all have the ability to make a choice for the better! You might be making a giant batch or a tiny drop of lemonade, but every motion you make towards creating a sweeter existence will enhance the world around you right in front of your very eyes. Every time you see an opportunity to rise above, use it to create an experience to remember! This year alone has been the best year I’ve ever known, simply by squeezing the best out of each moment and making it one I’m proud to know. Every day we are given situations that test us. The very outcome we will experience is based solely on our response. Give yourself the chance to mold your reality through positivity! The moment you feel out-of-sorts about something, use it to fuel your mind to formulate the best possible outcome. The morning commute, those people you pass holding signs up for food, the co-worker who needs a smile; whatever the reason that approaches you, make it a good one! It’s all about changing your perspective so your actions ripple into the next amazing reality that you are gifted to experience through yourself and through others! It all starts with ONE, one act of kindness... that’s your lemonade!!!
I challenge each of you to make your own lemonade! Make lemonade when you need a smile, when you need lifting and when you need to change the energy around you for the best! Start relying on your actions to impact the world around you, and start a revolution and watch the magic unfold! With each moment you choose to make lemonade, you will start to feel different, better, and more powerful! In that very moment you choose to be happier, you will feel a wave of calmnessand excitement to know that YOU just impacted the outcome for the best! One of my favorite things about this life is being able to impact those around me by my actions. I get a front row seat to watch the best show ever, real life change! Leading by example is the strongest tool we have for true change! You are responsible for your actions and by reacting positively you will change the world around you. Every moment we have is precious, use each one to become a brighter you! Lift the energy around you by acting as if it’s your last moment, love each breath, cherish every smile, and give the entirety of your being to connecting to your higher being! Life is a gift, start choosing to realize that it is a blessing and wrap your arms around the truth! Grasp ahold of the moments you want to change and squeeze the shit out of them!!! If you want to live a life you are excited to love, start squeezing those lemons and make the best lemonade you’ve ever tasted! Find a big glass, you’re going to need it! Love & Light to all of my lemons, I’m about to make me some lemonade out of you right now!!!

A P O CA LY P S E When we first arrived, we had no idea what
pests and fungi were prevalent in the Colorado cannabis cultivation scene. Our first personal harvest was a complete bust between russet mites and powdery mildew and that was the moment we discovered you have to have a Preventative Treatment Regimen AND an Apocalyptic Treatment Regimen. Here are the sprays we recommend for eradicating pest and fungus infestations in your indoor and out door grows. While many of these products are approved for organic gardening they can still cause irritation to the eyes and skin. So cover up!
WIZARD’S BREW
Check out the most delicious smelling all natural pesticide for cannabis plants. Wizard’s Brew is produced and sold in Colorado and is the first natural pesticide we used that truly gave us the upper hand in the garden.
SAFER GARDEN SPRAY 3 in 1
Safer Brand’s 3 in 1 Pesticide is OMRI tested and approved for organic gardening. This spray works as a miticide, fungicide, and pesticide. Sulfur is the active ingredient, so as always, follow dilution rates to a tee.

NEEM OIL
Neem oil is an effective and inexpensive solution for pests and fungi. Some growers advise against neem believing that it suffocates the stomata. The plants don’t seem to mind when we spray! Add one teaspoon of neem oil per quart of warm water or 4 teaspoons per gallon.
ED ROSENTHAL’S ZERO TOLERANCE
This herbal pesticide is a great addition to your regimen because of the cinnamon oil. Make sure you follow the dilution rates to a tee. Improper or heavy coverage could lead to some burning on the leaves. OMRI tested for organic gardening.
THINGS TO REMEMBER
The treatment regimens outlined below are effective in treating russet mite, spider mite, root aphid and powdery mildew infestations, Each bottle will tell you dilution rates to fit your particular scenario. Shake your treatment solutions well before mixing. Cover every inch of your plants, floors, and walls every time you treat. Rinse the plants with water in between treatments to prevent damage to plants. Alternate sprays so pests don’t develop a tolerance. Always wear protective gear and clothing when spraying pesticides and fungicides.

In today’s hustle and bustle we find ourselves resorting to looking at pictures of beautiful places instead of actually going there. Although most of us won’t deny that we feel better when in a natural environment than a man made one, there is huge body of research amassing about the health benefits of being out in nature and in particular hiking. The Japanese call it shinrin-yoku, quite literally “forest bathing.” Hiking in nature can help people with severe depression and anxiety feel less helpless and suicidal and can even improve the physical and emotional states of oncology patients. Aside from the obvious health benefits of engaging in cardiovascular exercise, plants and trees release essential oils that calm the body and mind. Colorado has so much to offer so make it happen. Treat yourself to a forest bath today!

Meet Sativa Ball! I met this lovely fox at the cup this year and fell in love with her from the moment she said hello. This breathtakingly beautiful Ohio native has a deep and intimate love of cannabis and her fellow tokers. Aside from her ability to look flawless with a plume of smoke falling out of her mouth, her name is really Sativa, and her spirit animal really is the Fox. We struck the jackpot!
Her endless smile radiates like the summer sun and it was obvious that she prefers to be laughing, joking and having a great time. We had a moment to sit down and pick the brain of this unbelievably friendly female and found out why she is the perfect candidate for Fox of the Month.
“I’m a small town Ohio girl who grew up in a family where smoking and growing Cannabis just wasn’t a big deal! If you feel a pull or urge to explore whatever it may be that I say just fucking do it, because time is fleeting and precious and none of us know why we’re really here anyway!” “I LOVE being outdoors, there is something so peaceful about the simplicity of the woods and the animal world. I escape into the mountains every chance I get because nothing is more grounding than that vulnerable feeling you get from roughing it with nature.” W hen we asked Sativa about her favorite strains she cheerfully answered, “I always enjoy Deathstar, she’s an Ohio native like me! When I want something a little more mellow; I’ll pack a bubbler of Ghost OG Moonshine, and when I want a peaceful night’s sleep I always enjoy a dank joint of Hindu Kush.” She continued, “Being a part of the Cannabis Industry has been one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. I get to meet people from all over the world and discuss this amazing plant and her benefits!! We are living in a monumental time in the history of Cannabis and I can’t wait to see what’s next! So smoke up!”
Thank you so much Sativa for your beautiful and friendly disposition. There will always be room for you at The Fox Den!

10 TIPS FOR GROW
W
ith many states passing laws allowing medical or recreational cannabis many growers are stepping away from their indoor operations and into the great outdoors! Sun grown cannabis is likely to contain more cannabinoids and terpenes to pack on that extra burst of flavor and potency along with being less expensive to produce compared to indoor. Much heavier harvest can be expected under the sun also! 1. Laws: Be sure to check all local and state laws before gearing up. No one should go to jail for a plant but unfortunately this is still happening even in the legal states! 2. Genetics: Pick a strain that is acclimated to your growing environment if possible. Any seed or clone will grow anywhere but growing a strain that is acclimated to your area will increase your plants chances of fending off insects or fungus and disease to ensure a quality harvest! 3. Location: Find a sunny spot , southern facing is preferred. The more light your plants receive the more energy they will have to grow big and strong and give you a bountiful harvest! You want a place with a good breeze but also a buffer from heavy winds as they can break limbs especially when in full bloom with large colas everywhere! 4. H2o: Make sure you have an adequate supply of water suitable for growing plants. Average outdoor plants will consume 5 to 15 gallons per day, larger outdoor plants can consume up to 25 gallons a day during the heat of summer and when in aggressive growth or bloom stage! 5. Dig a hole or fill a pot: Deciding to go in the ground or a container is your choice but consider a few things.... Plants thrive in the ground or in an aerated container like a smart pot.
WING IN THE GREAT
Outdoors
Plastic pots trap heat and do not allow adequate oxygen to the root zone. The larger the space the roots have to grow the bigger the plant will be above ground. A 10x10 hole or 1000 gallon smart pot can achieve 15+ lbs with the right genetics, conditions and care. If going in the ground you may want to build a rat or gopher cage with aviary wire to keep the pest from entering the root zone or base of plant.
6. Dirt: Buy a premium organic potting soil at your local grow shop. If you live in a dry area you may want to add water polymers (Crystals) to your mix for increased moisture retention and wet area growers should add more perlite or vermiculite to the blend to aid in better drainage. For best results amend your potting soil with bat guano, worm castings, chicken manure, humic acid, trace mineral additives and mycorrhizae . There are more amendments too, ask your local grow store staff for suggestions. 7. Timing: Planting times can vary greatly depending on where you live but in general the 1st of May is a safe month for seedlings and the 1st of June for clones. Try to avoid planting early morning or mid day, instead plant them right at sunset to allow the plants all night to get adjusted to their new home. 8. Veg : Your plants are in full on veg or growth stage now and can be fed heavier than previously. Drop by your local grow shop and pick up a good organic or chemical fertilizer for growth. Feed as often as every other day or as little as once a week, be sure to adjust your dosage accordingly. Allow soil to dry out in-between feeding and watering to prevent root rot or drowning of the plant
and water with plain water only in between feed days to prevent nutrient lock out from excess salt build ups! 9. Bloom: It’s mid August and your probably noticing some little white hairs or pistils shooting out of the plant’s calyx and maybe some yellowing aged leaves appearing. Your plants are transitioning into the bloom or flowering stage. Pick up a good organic or chemical bloom nutrient and feed as often as you did in growth stage. There are also many bloom boosters or stimulators on the market to enhance the size, smell and taste of your buds so be sure to ask the grow store staff to suggest one. Keep a close eye on your developing flowers to ensure you start your flush on time, you will want to flush with water only for about 2 weeks before harvest to achieve a clean and smooth taste! 10. You made it!!! Your backyard is stinking so good and it’s time to chop on your ladies and reap the fruits of your labor! There are a few ways to harvest. Some growers choose to cut the plant at the base while others choose to selectively cut only the ripe buds. Selective cutting can boost yields tremendously especially if working with larger plants and your weather conditions are still ideal! Cut large fan leaves before hanging to allow more air movement around the critical areas. Keep your drying room dark and cool, 65-70 degrees and humidity levels as close to 55% but no higher to prevent mold! Most outdoor garden harvests will require a dehumidifier or more so make sure you have adequate machines to keep up!
