How is a slide projector like a home? Doors open to allow a band of light (person) to project. Interrupted by a transparent image, set up by the home. When the image moves away the doors close. Pure white light would hurt the eyes. The process is disguised, blacked out. The viewer is removed from the room, seeing only the results of its orientation. A kind of controlled light.
How is a porous entrance like a lightbulb filament? As electrons (persons) zip through the filament, they are constantly bumping into atoms that make up the filament. The atoms vibrate and its electrons move to a higher energy level. The electrons release photons once they fall back. Something has thus been produced by contact. In the case of the lightbulb, visible light.

Vvv ARTICULATION The articulation of Stockholm is that of a spider. The center contains the brains and vital functions. The satellites are mere appendages, feet allowing movement of the body. The inviolate center has proved incapable of nurturing its underlings, in a mode of greed using their capabilities for personal advancement. The boss distributes its attendants a living wage: the minimum necessary to meet basic needs. Always insular, the nodes interact not with one another, only with the center, though not on mutual terms. Under these constraints, the situation in the suburbs continues as an impasse. Development stagnates and the form and program of the satellites are reduced to necessity: individuals lacking individualism. CHARACTER Perhaps we may move beyond cravings for H&M. What do the satellites contain? The “centrum, ersatz configurations of commerce, containing without exception dressman, gina tricot, apoteket, fruit stand. End of the line metro stations. Stacked living quarters, sometimes even balconies. AN ARC CITY Since none of the links overwhelm the others, bridging the nodes promotes a more natural diffusion of resources. It mitigates the responsibilities of the city center. Now able to rely on one another for a diverse amount of needs, the satellite cities can leave inane generality and become hyper-specialized. They are all free to pursue their own goals, to act single-mindedly in a network of aims.

DENSITY The key to understanding the city is density. Never before have such vast amounts of people been assembled in such small territories. That territory explains architecture today. In the city we are led on rides of wind, heat, steepness, cold, interior, exterior, smells, and fumes. A perpetual organic process of adjustment, standards, and behavior ensues. In this pinnacle of multiple choice it is impossible to reconstruct cause and effect. An endless contradiction of interpretations proves the city’s richness. The city is always founded by people on the move, poised to move on. The in transit condition is becoming universal. No longer are physical conglomerates necessary. The new society proves capable of living in dispersed nodes of specialization. Our technology allows it.
A TIMELINE OVER TIME. Locating the past and future, and the resultant disorientation of present.

VO I D Fog lays close to the ground impeded only by gravity. Areas of dense water molcules disperse and float on air currents creating places of both high and low visibility. As an incoherent white mass, the droplets appear to occupy space, yet solid objects pass through effortlessly.
