DAY OF THE DEAD PHOTO EXPEDITION 2018 OAXACA OCT. 28-NOV.04

ITINERARY 8 Days Sunday 28 Oct Day 1 — Oaxaca, Mexico Arrive in Oaxaca and check into our hotel, located just a few blocks from the Zócalo, the center of the city.

This evening gather for a welcome reception and dinner.

Hotel Rivera del Angel http:// www.hotelriveradelangel.com/ Monday 29 Oct Day 2 — Monte Albán We will visite Monte Albán, the religious, political, and commercial center of the Zapotec. Photo shoot this morning in the archeological site.

Afternoon lecture, edit and critique session.

Santo Domingo and the center town where we will have the opportunity to find preparations and also comparsas.

Tuesday 30 Oct Day 3 — Xochimilco and Jalatlaco We will go at morning in the neighborhoods of Xochimilco and Jalatlaco, with the opportunity to visit and making a photo shoot with a family preparing their altar.

Afternoon lecture, edit and critique session.

Evening at leisure.

Wednesday 31 Oct Day 4 — Xoxocotlan Santa Cruz and Pantheones Visit in the morning to the Pantheon General where people is preparing the flowers on the graves.

Afternoon at leisure (we recommend you to rest) because at night we will be at Xoxocotlan Santa Cruz, where we will make a photo shoot session in the old pantheon (cemetery).

Thursday 01 Nov Day 5 — Zaachila We will go in the the morning at Zaachila Market, in the south of Oaxaca town. There are goats, pigs, sheep, cows, and oxen are traded and sold. We will have the opportunity to make precious photos documenting the atmosphere and the vibrant energy of a typical Mexican marketplace. We will eat delicious food there like barbacoa and the fantastic Nieves (a sort of ice cream), the best of Mexico.

Friday 02 Nov Day 6 — Mitla or Ocotlan (alternatives) Mitla: We will explore the remarkable ruins of Mitla this morning. Mitla, known as "world of the dead" was an important ceremonial center built by the Zapotec. Then we will head into the quaint town. to the Day of the Dead market.

Ocotlan: Travel to Ocotlan Friday market for a photo shoot. We will eat there. Back in Oaxaca and after chilling at the hotel, our usual afternoon lecture, edit and critique session. Thanks to my indications about your work, you ae invited to head out to photograph the city at your leisure.

Saturday 03 Nov Day 7 — San Sebastian de las Flores, Etla We will visit this rural village of the Valle Central whee we will have the opportunity to visit a family and realizing a photo shoot with them. We will document n the evening in the town of San Agustin to realize something unique.

Evening lecture, edit and critique session.

Sunday 04 Nov Day 8 — Oaxaca The workshop ends today, after breakfast, with the evaluations, presentation of the best pictures and the delivery of diplomas.
