Brazilian vacation at Buzios Your Brazilian vacation is definitely incomplete without a complete trip to the peninsula of Armacao dos Buzios, or simply Buzios. This is a spectacular place to be, a complete Brazilian experience with lots of activities to do, the carnival, the delicious food, or just simply relax at any of the twenty two amazing beaches that surround this peninsula. This small municipality

town of the Brazilian peninsula is only 69 sq km in dimensions and is 169 km North East of the capital Rio de Janerio. Albeit small, this amazing town has a history of its own, a history of pirate ships and a


particular culture and is also a place where amazing contrasts blend in perfect harmony. The rich and the general tourist are therefore equally welcome to spend an amazing vacation at Buzios. The spirit of harmony in contrast perhaps stems from the unique geographical advantage this place possess in terms of the beaches.

There are 22 beaches altogether surrounding this peninsular town, each a unique story of its own, but is categorized into two main geographical divisions, namely the East coast beaches and the West coast beaches. The West coast beaches present serene and peaceful waters, whereas the East coast beaches are the turbulent ones. This amazing contrast and the harmony of celebration of life in the contrast are the

Speaking of movie stars coming to Buzios to spend their vacation, the story goes as such that it was actually a visit of the legendary French movie star Brigitte Bardot, that brought the focus of international attention to the place. Brigitte had visited the place for a small vacation, but, charmed by the amazing spirit of the place, overstayed her vacation despite the annoying paparazzi and this made people to wonder as to why did she overstay? The only way to find the answer was to visit Buzios and therefore people began to visit the place, which gradually began to evolve as a famed tourist destination. However, this does not again mean that Buzios is an overcrowded space of tourists, as yet still Buzios retains the spirit of


quiet vacation that sometimes vacationers so look for. Brigitte had been immortalized by a stone figurine of her by the side of the main pavement in Buzios, the Rua Das Pedras. Her figurine is the deity of Love that is so characteristic of the spirit of Buzios. The Rua Das Pedras is the key street of this small town, taking people to wherever they want to venture in this place. Among the beaches, the Geriba beach is particularly popular for surfing and the Manguihos beach for windsurfing. Other most visited beaches include the Joao fernandes, the Ferradura and the Armacao beach.
