RESIDENCE OF THE SECURITY GUARD OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PATRAS AND PUBLIC SPACES FOR THE STUDENTS
The main request for this project was to design a sustainable building with both private and public spaces for the guard of the campus and the students respectively. Considering our main element, the green roof, we chose as an architectural gesture to peel the ground in order to create two spaces and two walk-on roofs. Οur aim was to establish a strong connection between those two spaces through the design. So we decided that the roofs will exchange uses: the public roof will be accessible by the guard and his family and the guard’s roof will be accessible, with restrictions, by the students. Βoth constructions seek the minimum energy consumption using a variety of sustainable elements such as: tanks which utilize rainwater for irrigation and certain needs of the house, double-faced facades with wooden panels for shading and thermal insulation.
5
Specifically, for the private action, we designed a residence for the guard and his family including his office, a yard and parking space. The office space perforates the roof and acquires a semi-public character having access both from the walk- on roof and the house. For the public action we chose to include two functions. The one is a set of orchards that the students with the help of the guard will be responsible for and able to use. For this function we made a diagram containing the vegetables and varius other crops that will be planted and their needs for both water and sun in order to choose the best location for them at the site. The other is a small space for processing and storage of these products and for the students to rest between the lectures. Τhis space is in the southwestern view so moving panels and blinds were chosen to be used in the facade.

BAUAKADEMIE
MUSEUM IN BERLIN/ REBUILD THE OLD BAUAKADEMIE BY SCHINKEL
The aim of this project is to built a new museum of architecture in the old Bauakademie in Berlin. Respecting the language of Schinkel and aiming to keep some elements and relations that he used in Bauakademie, we decided to keep the heights of the floor and the use of glass, concrete and some steel beams where needed. Also after our research of the area and the important buildings surrounding Bauakademie, we decided to keep the concept of a courtyard and follow the grid that Schinkel had created. Our new building has 3 floors with exhibition spaces, education classes, restaurant, coffee shop, gift shop and other open spaces for the public. In this project, keeping the strong relationship between the public space and the building was of high importance.

General View
Taking into consideration all the information we aquared we moved forward with the implementation of our idea. The high importance of the rotondas and the courtyards as well as the typology of the surnounding buildings, their orientation, the pathways and especially the river determined the final design.

REVEALING THE EARTH
MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART/ SITE:THE OLD FACTORY OF ABBEA,CHANIA
The museum itself is a new ground, a surface that following the topography of the space, creates inside and outside spaces at the same time. After observing the site, we were intrigued by the way the topograpgy itself sometimes “hides” and sometimes “reveals” certain aspects. Our basic gesture was to engrave the surface and rebuild it in different levels, creating in this way inner spaces and achieving their connection with the shelves through the ramps that emerged with the same gesture. An important element is the manner in which the structures where exploited. Sails supported by the existing lighting poles extend the internal functions outside.

RE C R E AT I N G A B B E A Facing the positions to and from the site we identified two important elements that acted as the leading direction of our intervention. First the strong element of the ABBEA fugue, which acts a landmark of the region. The second and most important observation was the hiding and revealing manner of the landscape. Seeing the site as a whole, we noticed that cutting our poject into different levels reveals our internal areas under the superficial - landscape we have created. Our basic functions of the museum are: Architecture Design/ the Museum|Chania the presentation space,Revealing the warehouse, the coffee shop, the gift shop, an indoor amphitheater, the exhibition space, the existence of private studios offering artists the possibility of temporary accomodation and finally some outdoor workshops.

CULTURAL CENTER
NEW MEETING SQUARE IN THE OLD TRAIN STATION/ ANCIENT OLYMPIA
The basic idea was to bring this space to life for both residents and visitors, targeting a longer visit. Three key points in the area were: the entry to Olympia, the train station building and the new bus station. Thus, we have created some certain in orfer to meet the visitors’ needs (coffee shop, workshops, amphitheatre, market) and create some spatial experiences (observation tower, planted space, water space, sand, small hill). The smooth connection of all of these is achieved through the placement of different material on the ground, making it blend with the city. At the same time, in the intermediate spaces there are seating positions bounded by the limits of our intervention, as well as some lighting poles that create paths and are located above the central axis of the space.

FOROOM |PATRAS STARTUP HUB
STARTUP HUB/ REUSE OF AN OLD BUILDING IN THE CENTER OF PATRAS, GREECE
The main aim of the project is to create an organization that will promote the process of implementing new ideas with the appropriate support. An organization that will give people who have an idea the ability to be guided by people who will act as their mentors. This is achieved through the form of the building as it houses workplaces for the new members but at the same time has offices for the mentors which due to their operation are independent of the rest of the organization. In order for a relationship to exist between the mentors and the new members, spaces of gathering and communication are created. The shape of the building unfolds hierarchically according to the role of its occupants. The design of the space aims at a smooth transition between the different levels.

RE USE PATRAS STARTUP HUB As the ‘forum’ platforms promote communication and as the main element of our organization is the creation of spaces that bring the new members of the startup hub and mentors together, we linked our project to the concept of a forum. The only difference is that the forum refers to an online communication site while our suggestion takes place in real-world spaces. In order to achieve the smooth transistion from one space to the other, a significant part of the movement in the body is at tilted levels. In seeking to integrate the organization into the urban context and to invite the citizen to this new environment, the building welcomes them with spaces of a fairly public character, (exhibition area and an open-public square) informing them in the same time about the works that its members create. The plot gives a fresh breath to the existing neighboring buildings as it creates an open-air patio connecting two of the most central streets of Patras that have a big altitude difference.
he 'forum' platforms promotes communication and as the main element of our organization is the creation of spaces for communicabetween the new members of the startup hub and their mentors, we likened our project to the concept of forum. With the only erence that the forum refers to an online communication site while our suggestion takes place in real-world spaces. So, we have fied the word by calling our startup hub : 'foroom'.

ALL THE WAY UP
ΑPARTMENT BUILDING/ IN THE CENTRAL SQUARE OF PATRAS, GREECE
Τhe main objective of the project is to redefine the relationship between the collective home and the public operating space. By focusing on cycling in the city, our proposal concerns a building consisting of a long ramp, which gradually raises the bike from the square to the height of 30 meters, giving the option to enter the different appartments, whose level is not distinguised. At the same time, at the level of the square, an open bike park is situated. The apartments are 60sqm consisting of two floors. Also their roofs have small public yards aiming to strengthen the relationship between the outdoors and the private space. In the spirit of the fast pace of the bicycles, the pedestrian motion is accomodated by a circular elevator instead of staircases.
