Connect the modem to your internet port of your NETGEAR router and connect the computer to any of the four LAN ports available with you.
Switch off and on your PC, router and broadband connection repeatedly. Wait until you are finished up with the process of booting up.
Next, open your web browser and type IP address of router's IP given as either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter. You will be prompted to log into your router section.
Keep a track on the default username which will be “admin” and your default password will be “password”.
Always remember that the username and password are case-sensitive, so be aware while typing the login details.

Confirm the “IP Address” field and check if you have a valid IP address. The valid IP address should not be left blank neither should be filled with zeroes such as 0.0.0.0
