BODY CLOTHING

1

BODY CLOTHING Skin and all its different manifestations, colours, textures and imperfections is the first and best fitting body suit we all wear. Tailored by genetics, it comes in a variety of shades and can be kissed or burnt by the sun, enhanced by the artistry of ink and ultimately ravaged by the passage of time. We wear our skin with passion, the delight we experience from it being smooth and shiny during our youth. Whilst the skin wrinkles that divide our faces reflect the character bestowed by age. We own them, we tame them and we allow them to grow. Our skin develops and matures into a surface that forms the contours of ourself. We buy slogan clothing to enhance our personalities, or to present a self to the world that indicates how we would like to be perceived. We wrap our skin in bandages, suffocating the interior allowing no true pigmentation to be revealed. Our skin is our staple fashion statement, uniquely represented with different palettes of colouring, from the palest pink to the darkest brown. By allowing our true body shapes to be revealed and embracing our natural image it is possible to be liberated. Societies attitudes have always alternated from conspicuous flaunting of the body and skin to the prudish concealment of the body under heavy restrictive clothing. Once the flash of a pretty ankle could bring a flush of pink to the observer’s skin. I predict that it will be normal to walk around wearing transparent, diaphanous clothing revealing all of the bodies beautiful form and skin colouring. A few pieces of weeds on your legs could eventually be classed as as your clothing. Eventually we could return to the innocence of Adam and Eve.

LIQUID METALLIC

LIQUID METALLIC

We are not alone in the universe. Unbeknown to us thousands of objects glide at great speed in a void. A metallic flash of light, a glint in the abyss. Time is the only power to restrain the universe. It orchestrates the rhythmic pace of the cosmic ballet, planets pirouetting amongst the stars, silent and forever faultless. Sound is a foreign entity, smothered by vastness, yet to the eyes colours known and alien glisten from surfaces graced by light. Polished metal hurtles through viscous black, reflecting the iridescent light bestowed by stars in mock imitation of life, blinding yet cold. The universe changes in subtle ways barely noticeable but dramatic, fashion is just the same. From a young age we are taught about the great mysteries of galaxies and planets. Upcoming eclipses excite and amaze us, but in fact, are our minds eclipsed? Do we transcend our minds to inhabit other universes? The answer is, nobody knows but we all still question these ideas. One thing everyone has in common, we all want to know the unknown. Galaxies, huge, like an enormous whirlpool of light in the ocean of ink, lighting up the sky like bioluminescence floating in water. They are connections, nerves in a veiny sky pulsing with energy. There are sparkles of amber, emerald and sapphire all entwined together to create a metallic fireball we call, stars. The start of something so small, growing exponentially, then they die emanating more metallic rays in a final display of power.
