- Worked within EC, Robotics, and Wearables in the NPD & NPI departments

- Key player in the design of Dyson’s OnTrac headphones - made an impact with my design thinking and problem solving in a short period to deliver a now patented design

- Worked with cross-functional teams to enhance the user experience of EC and Robotics products

- Led three integrated rig builds, achieving key milestones and conducting successful user trials

- Planned and executed UI/UX user trials and US specification trials for an EC project

- Mentored and supported interns and DIET students, fostering their development and confidence

- Developed and designed innovative solutions, presenting them in design reviews

- Led multiple sell-ins and conducted confidential briefings to the media for the Dyson Ontrac launch

PRODUCT DESIGN INTERN 2022-2024 2020-2021

- Developed concepts using SolidWorks and Adobe Suite, creating clear and concise presentations for clients

- Utilized KeyShot to produce detailed, realistic visualisations.

- Created high-resolution app prototype mockups using Adobe XD.

- Successfully met tight deadlines and managed multiple projects with three-day turnarounds.

PRODUCT DESIGN BSC FIRST CLASS BACHELORS 2018-2022

- Chosen to represent the University at new Designers with my final year project Atmoz

- Committee member of design society, bolstering 1st year student’s skillset and design confidence

DYSON ONTRAC

A CUSTOMISABLE PAIR OF HIGH FIDELITY NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES WITH AN EXPANDED AUDIO RANGE, DELIVERING UP TO 55 HOURS OF IMMERSIVE LISTENING

DYSON ONTRAC

When I joined the project, my task was to determine how to attach the metal glamour cap to the chassis. By understanding user needs and conducting extensive concept development, we agreed on a customisable concept facilitated by a quarter-turn bayonet mechanism - a design for which I am the named inventor of on the ‘customisable outer cap’ patent

Over 30 different rig iterations were made during the concept development stage to ensure the optimal solution was chosen

The outer cap was a sub-assembly I took ownership of right from the initial requirement specification stage all

ATMOZ

A LOW COST AQUEOUS OZONE CLEANING DEVICE AIMEDAT REDUCING ASTHMA SYMPTOMS IN CHILDREN

ATMOZ

My final year project that was selected for New Designers, Atmoz, aims to provide a nontoxic, renewable alternative to traditional chemicalbased multi-surface cleaners that can cause asthma symptoms. The project involved a great deal of idea generation, concept creation, and many discussions with experts in various fields and the target market to validate the concept and solution. The product utilises existing components, to produce ozone in the base unit that is then bubbled into a removable spray bottle to then be used around the house. The main aim of the product was to keep costs low to create a product with low barriers of entry and increase the uptake of aqueous ozone technology. By creating a fully costed BOM, it was calculated that Atmoz could be retailed for just over 1/4 of the price of the current competitors, making it a viable solution to the proposed problem.

Breaking down product design specification into features and generating all possible solutions

This was also done collaboratively with peers to get new perspectives on each feature

Grouping together all individual solutions to form full product concepts to then be evaluated Each concept was then evaluated by comparison with the specification and matrices

Using mood boards to sketch out concepts for previously generated ideas

The final concept was selected based on the situation of the product and user needs

RIGS, PROTOTYPES AND AWARDS

Ergonomics were tested extensively along with very in-depth rigging with the technology itself to ensure my proposal was technically viable

A prototype demonstrating the UI/UX functionality of the product along with the form itself was developed to be showcased at my final degree showcase

DESIGN SHOWS

I was selected along with a few of my peers to represent the university at New Designers following the success of my project’s concept, visuals and prototype at my University’s project showcase event. At New Designers I won the Innovate UK award and was shortlisted for the Lakeland award

FINAL PROTOTYPE

PUREAIR

PERSONAL CONCEPT CREATION PROJECT

PureAir is a with the aim of making a product that is placed in a room to help solve a problem, into been designed to be capacitive touch buttons for the controls and can easily be separated to empty the tank

INNOVATE PRODUCT DESIGN PLACEMENT

2020-2021

I spent my placement year working for Innovate Product design as an intern. My role included app prototyping, concept creation, product visualisation and prototyping. This varied role gave me lots of valuable experience across a broad spectrum of projects, and plenty of transferable skills that I have carried with me throughout my later design work.

Working for Innovate taught me how to meet tight deadlines and communicate with clients effectively to ensure that their expectations are met and that the deliverables are of a standard that was high enough to present to them. The images on the right have been blurred for intellectual property reasons upon request however they should give a taste of some of the examples of just a handful of visualisation boards I created during my time as an intern.

DAY TURNAROUND PER PROJECT STAGE PRODUCT DESIGN PROCESS

PROJECTS COMPLETED DURING INTERNSHIP APPS MOCKED UP READY FOR INVESTMENT PITCHING

During my time at Innovate Product Design, I created 15 app prototypes from a variety of genres. This involved interpreting the information provided via a meeting with the client, hand drawing wireframes, and then visualising them using Adobe XD. Animations were also something I learned and added to prototypes upon completion, to provide realism and immersion for the client when they explore investment opportunities. All of the apps I created are under NDA however the second app I worked on has made its way to the UK app store and received numerous 5-star reviews and climbed the reference app charts on the Apple app store (See images for reference).

Whilst app creation was entirely new to me, I found XD quick to learn and developed the ability to work with clients and deliver expectations by turning their rough ideas into a tangible, visual prototype.
