bKL Architecture Refugee One
2020-Present I took a design from initial concept through construction administation with the supervision of a senior project architect for Refugee One, a non-profit organization that helps refugee’s resettle in the U.S. In this role I was responsible for all drawing production and all owner, contractor, and consultant coordination. Given the financial constraints of the non-profit, the value engineering process was extensive to achieve the project goals.

2021 For 3354 Peachtree, with direction from our design director, I developed design concepts and delegated tasks to a team of five for a 1.5 million sq ft mixed-use complex RFP response. Along with producing the Revit model and editing diagrams using adobe software, I was responsible for presenting progress internally and ensuring that our team met key deadlines.

bKL Architecture Hazel National Landing
2020-2021 On Hazel National Landing, I was part of the exterior wall team. I worked on the design development and construction document phases, developing over 50 exterior wall system sheets, and exterior wall and landscape detail sheets. I also coordinated the exterior wall layout with unit designs, and MEP. Lastly, I led ordering and review of exterior material samples and created a material board for client review.

2015 and 2019 In 2015 I was responsible for the Digital Model, Physical model, Podium design, Renderings, and Elevation drawings. I used Revit, Illustrator, 3DS Max, and Photoshop for the renderings and elevations. The model was produced using Autocad files to laser cut the elements. This work was presented to our client. In 2019 I led construction administration duties for the project. This included site visits, pay application review, punch listing, and submittal and RFI review.

Kuwait Hospital Jahra, Kuwait
Spring 2017|Chicago Studio First Place Earl Prize Graduate Design Award Team: Alex Rasky|Ann Erskine|Kelly McCaffrey Located at the center of the Medical City, the Jahra Hospital serves as an international symbol of health and well-being. This iconic mass was formed out of the desire to locate all patient beds with a view of the bay to improve healing and serve as a constant reminder to the rich maritime history of Kuwait. The challenge of the building became to serve two front facades, one located off the highway as a symbol of medicine, the other at a more human scale rooted in the community center. The incorporation of public spaces challenges the idea of what a hospital should be and adds programmatic value to the community.

Idea Factory Finkl Site, Chicago Fall 2016
In response to the Finkl Site’s historic usage of manufacturing raw material, The Idea Factory serves the role of manufacturing ideas. It will be used to bring innovative professionals together to give them a platform to brainstorm, network, and collaborate. The site is split into two sectors. The first is for individual solitude. Each participant lives in their own personal apartment module. The experience allows for private meditation, exercise, and work space. The time in solitude should be used to create original ideas. Then, the participants use the skywalk to reconnect with the city and make their way into the collaborative building. Here, the participants spend time exchanging ideas to come up with innovative plans. The space includes team work space, a guest lecture room, a group gym, an open cafeteria, and a social gallery space.

Manhattan, New York City
Fall 2017 Earl Prize Graduate Design Award Nominee
My proposition was an intervention on monolithic department stores through the use of fitness studios in an effort to revitalize brick and mortar retail. I believe that adding a routine activity like fitness into a retail program will help to increase foot traffic through the department store. Using Macy’s flagship department store in New York City as my case study, I have extruded out studio space in a contradiction to the existing buildings design to create a large scale visual advertisement for Macy’s.

Housing Unplugged
120 Hour Competition Spring 2018
Housing Unplugged offers an alternative housing option responding to the social isolation urban housing can cause. The project executes a single-loaded corridor of studio bedrooms, allowing for maximum communal space. By minimizing the bedrooms to only the necessary features, residents are motivated to enjoy the communal amenities of the building. The communal space is designed to work flexibly, covering almost any activity the residents would want. Through an open design and shifting of levels, residents are encouraged to put down their technology and interact with each other.
