We are a small scale publisher passionate about bringing diverse stories by Filipino, and Asian, artists to children (and their friends and families) all over the world.
In Dutch and Indonesian "Kado" means "Gift" (it is also often spelled "cadeau" in Dutch). In Japanese, "Kado" means "Gate". We chose the name Kado because we believe books and stories are gifts and gateways to new worlds, new perspectives, ideas, representation, and more. When we wrote "Kado" in Baybayin (ancient Filipino script) we discovered it looked like a book, and decided to make this our logo.

"My daughter LOVES this book (The Fabulous Fiestas of the Philippines)! It's one of the books she'll often pick out on her own and "read" ...Aside from it being just the right level of challenging for her, it's also incredibly informative. I've lived in the Philippines almost my entire life, yet I learned quite a few interesting facts from this book. ...Hope the author will make more books like this!

"I like The Fabulous Fiestas of the Philippines as it visually captures our fiestas. Well explained and it also asks the child to 'look for' specific objects."
