Background

The Brief

Holland is small, low lying, liberal and proud nation consisting of around 16 million people in northern mainland Europe. They are a very active and hard working nation. Holland’s reclaimed land shows an example of an impressive infrastructure and the strong determination of the dutch people, which gives the small nation a large character and culture. With a rich trading history the Dutch have always wanted to flog their exports, dominating in flowers, but now a new product from Holland needs to leave the country’s borders.

Create an logo / identity for a Dutch snack bar called Product Nederland which is to establish itself to a UK fast-food/ snack-food market. The brand will need a good representation of modern Holland; it also needs to show the product is affordable and tasty. To build on the identity you must produce products and ranges which can be found in the develiverable’s. Target Market

The brand needs to appeal to working class Brits such as families, office employees on their lunch break, students, commuting travellers; One of Holland’s well known generally people who are secrets is their love of chip’s looking for a quick, cost with mayo, but one of their effective and filling food. smallest kept secrets is the range of delicious, protein filled affordable food, that feeds a large part of Holland’s working class. Dutch Snack Bars are found all across Holland offering these affordable hots snacks. Such as a Frikadel (a deepfried peppered sausage) to a croquette (Meat in bread crumbs).

The concept for Product Nederland is its a symbol of dutch fast food and its a small embassey of Holland in the UK. The Logo is aimed to stand out on a busy high street to entice customers to warm and straight service. The Product Nederland logo is aim to be inviting and signify Dutch to the UK’s fast food market. The logos on the left are the only way the logo can be used to best represent the brand to work along side the brand message.

The Product Nederland range: 2 Bags 2 Coned chip wrapping 2 Table Top promotion 3 Mini flags 4 Menus 3 Loyalty Cards 1 Coffee Cup 2 food holder sizes The logo is spread across the range with most of the range also printed onto bright orange stock to add to the Product Nederland concept of the logo being a flag to stand out of other visual noise. Accoss the range there’s a mixture of dutch and english in the promotion and information.

The photos on the right are a closer look at the range. There are two menus, one in english and the other in dutch. I am proposing that their will be three different size chip wrapping. The photo in the bottom right hand corner are 2 poster examples of a possiable range in that same style with a mixture of photograph and simple vector based images.
