Project Design / Fabrication 09.2019 - 12.2019 FIFTEEN exhibition 2019 The Bartlett School of Architecture 22 Gordon Street, London Rhino, Grasshopper, Karamba, Fusion 360, Fusion CAM. CNC: TM3-Haas machine Robotics: KUKA KR60 The main concept of the project is based on a funnel structure composed of a double-curved surface tessellated into a reciprocal frame pattern. By relying on accurate fixing through the design of the joints between sections, seeking to minimize the usage of hardware accessories. Furthermore, the connections between the beams are designed as continuous Hypar surfaces which enable self-alignment and provide enough friction for endured stability. Advanced digital tools for design were exploited and implemented into digital subtractive fabrication techniques using multi-axis robotics and Computer Numerically Controlled machines, to achieve a degree of precision and complexity.

Assembling Reciprocity

Project Design / Fabrication 01.2019 - 09.2019 London Design Festival 2019 Oxo Tower, London Rhino, Grasshopper, Karamba, Fusion 360, Fusion CAM. CNC: TM3-Haas machine. “Assembling Reciprocity” celebrates the possibilities for timber sections as self‐supporting reciprocal frame structures, relying on the design of the joints between sections. Advanced digital tools for design and manufacturing were used to make this a non‐planar structure out of reciprocal frames, demonstrating the possibilities afforded by parametric geometry and multi‐axis robotics to design and fabricate the structure’s critical joints.

Ailes house situated in Cumbres de Santa Fe, incorporates all the technologies available for its adequate functioning, meanwhile preserving the environment. Distributed in 3 levels, surrounded by green areas it invites the residents to an atmosphere of tranquillity, in which the windows that go from the floor´s marble to the four-meter high wooden ceilings create a symbiosis between the exterior and the interior.

DM House, designed next to a Golf course in Morelia, appeals to the comfort and commodity of the user, concentrating all the contemporary activities in the ground floor, locating the space for visitors in the second level. This allows the residents to live in a single level without the use of stairs or ramps and visitors to have privacy. The inclined ceilings allow sunlight in all the interiors, as well as natural ventilation, to provide the users maximum comfort.

San Gil, famous for its lake and Golf Course, provides us with the perfect location for a retreat house. Therefore the project is designed in two levels that are oriented to the house´s private terrace and a view to the Golf Course. The materials used are mainly natural, quarry found in the area and Walnut wood. The stairs’ dome provides the house with natural sunlight all year round. 07.

Villa Serena House

Villa Serena was developed according to the topography of its terrain. The entrance of the house is through the garage and a glass cube stairway. It's distributed into four levels, two service basements and two upper floors. The shape of the house that is perceived from the Lomas Country Golf Course, is that of wooden boxes floating over a glass cube ground floor. All the materials were selected to ensure their proper ageing with correct maintenance.

The refurbishment of this colonial house was based on maintaining the essence of the elements that most defined the architecture of the house. It has a very strict module when it comes to its window frames, and therefore such module was imitated in the design of the furniture for the dressing rooms and Kitchen. A swimming lane with fountains was incorporated to give an aesthetically pleasing view to the living room. 07.

This project was designed for the CAM SAM (College and Society of Mexican Architects). The concept of the design is based in emphasizing the triangular shapes that make up the building plans. The intervention accentuates the space with the lighting design, to highlight the appearance of the pre-existing architecture. The hub is the result of a workspace for architects with new technologies, that results in a comfortable and contemporary ambience. 06.

The projects for this brand, are designed using natural elements such as wood and marble, to bring a sense of a new and modern location in contrast with the vintage manly accessories and leather furniture.

The refurbishing of Jaso restaurant, situated in Polanco, is based on the idea of dividing the entrance into two generating two diverse concepts; Jaso Bakery, Jaso Restaurant. The bakery, a gourmet however casual space linked to the rooftop bar, provides the customer with service of bakery and top patisserie. The restaurant on the other hand, with a vestibule bar composed of natural elements, stone and wood, highlights the essence of nature and elegance that categorizes this 07. brand.

Chapultepec 225, is a resultant of a study area around Chapultepec Avenue in Mexico City. The history, the current state, the mobility and accessibility of this zone was taken into consideration for the location of this project. The hypothesis was derived from Mexico´s poor nutrition culture. This issue is consequent from lack of knowledge, time and space. The users targeted are economically active people that faced all the above deficiencies. The program projects a health and nutrition centre distributed in four towers; a corporate and administrative centre, medical clinics, education and amenities centre and apartments. 07.
