YOUR ATLANTIC LANGUAGE JUNIOR PROGRAMME JUNIOR COURSE

OUR JUNIOR SUMMER COURSES offer a package of quality teaching, accommodation, meals, supervision and an exciting social programme. Our highly qualified and friendly teachers use the most up to date methods in an interactive learning environment. Classes are designed to develop your communication skills and build your confidence in using English.

Our teachers make learning English interesting and dynamic by combining formal language training with games, project work and the use of multimedia resources. Lessons will also prepare you for excursions and activities so that you can continue to use your new language skills outside the classroom.

You can choose to STAY IN A RESIDENCE OR WITH A HOST FAMILY. Both options will offer a secure home from home environment. We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable during your stay in Ireland.

THE SOCIAL PROGRAMME

The Atlantic Language JUNIOR SUMMER PROGRAMME offers a range of activities to fill the hours outside of the classroom. The schedule includes local visits, activities, excursions and projects designed to help you have fun and make lots of memories with your new friends.

You can enjoy: City walking tours, local museum visits, shopping trips, fun evening activities and weekend excursions to Irish sites of scenic and historical interest.

GALWAY

GALWAY is a vibrant university city on the west coast of Ireland. With its colourful medieval streets and pretty sea-front promenade, Galway attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. It is also known for its rich cultural life which is celebrated in festivals of theatre, music and cinema throughout the summer months.

OUR GALWAY CENTRE is located in the campus of one of Galway’s two universities, GMIT. Here students benefit from modern educational facilities, brightly lit classrooms, canteen, sport’s hall, and chill-out games room. In Galway students can avail of an intensive English language course with 24 lessons (18 hours) per week. After lessons in the morning, students work on projects in the afternoon, using their new language skills in interesting and creative ways.

DUBLIN

DUBLIN, Ireland’s capital, is a lively, metropolitan city with a rich cultural and historical heritage. With a wealth of visitor attractions, and a reputation for warmth and friendliness, Dublin makes an ideal location for a teenage language holiday. OUR DUBLIN CENTRE is located in a spacious, wellequipped secondary school called St. Colmcilles in Knocklyon where students can enjoy brightly lit modern classrooms, sports hall running track,

free wi-fi, and external green areas. The school is situated in a suburb on the Southside of the city. The Junior Summer Course in our Dublin Centre combines focused English language tuition with a varied social programme and weekly excursions.

ATLANTIC LANGUAGE FAMILY PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN AGED 5 – 17

This fantastic summer course offers families the opportunity to combine a holiday in the Irish cities of Galway or Dublin with English language learning. Lessons are provided by highly qualified native teachers with years of experience and classes for younger learners are given by teachers especially qualified in this field. Parents attend classes in our year-round adult school while children have lessons in a specially designed area of the same school.

GALWAY FAMILY PROGRAMME THE ATLANTIC LANGUAGE FAMILY PROGRAMME in Galway offers families the opportunity to combine a wonderful holiday in the west of Ireland with English language study. Galway is a friendly, vibrant city located on Ireland’s west coast. The city has something to offer every member of the family, from unique boutiques, cafes and music pubs to childfriendly beaches and watersports activities.

On this programme parents will study English in our year-round adult school while children have lessons in classes in the same centre. PARENTS have the option to take extra lessons in the afternoon while their children enjoy English based activities with their teachers. TEENAGERS (12–17 YEARS) can join our INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR SUMMER SCHOOL for afternoon and evening activites like bowling, cinema and a weekly disco.

DUBLIN FAMILY PROGRAMME THE ATLANTIC LANGUAGE FAMILY PROGRAMME in Dublin offers families a chance to combine a holiday in Ireland with English language learning. Dublin is a lively and sophisticated modern city with plenty of sights and activities to interest the whole family. You can explore Dublin’s cultural and historical heritage in its theatres and museums, or take advantage of its many parks and beaches.

The Family Programme takes place in our adult centre which is located in the heart of Dublin city centre. PARENTS AND CHILDREN can enjoy classes in a purpose-built Adult centre and adjoining Junior centre. Parents have the option to take extra lessons in the afternoon while their children enjoy English based activities with their teachers.

BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS MAKING A BOOKING > Registrations may be made by completing the booking form. jss.atlantic.ac (Junior Summer Programme) fpg.atlantic.ac (Family Programme) > Bookings must be for a minimum duration of 2 weeks for Junior Summer and 1 week for Family Programme. > Atlantic Language operates several school centres. Students at each centre have access to facilities at the other. > Atlantic Language reserves the right to transfer students between sites for operational and academic reasons. Booking requests for specific school centres cannot be guaranteed. > Atlantic Language reserves the right to refuse Bookings. FEE PAYMENTS > Full payment of fees must be made within 5 days of receipt of the Proforma Invoice. Bookings will be cancelled automatically, according to the cancellation policy, for non-payment. > Any Bookings made less than 28 days before the course start date must be paid in full at the time of Booking. > Payments are only accepted in Euro: they may be made by bank transfer or by credit or debit card (Visa or MasterCard). > All bank charges are the responsibility of the student. > Credit card and non-Irish debit card payments are subject to a bank administrative fee of 2.0 percent of the total transaction amount. HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE > All students are strongly advised to take out full and suitable travel and health insurance. > EU/EEA nationals are advised to obtain an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card, formerly an E111) as minimum cover: for further details on issuing organisation see http://bit.ly/EHIC-en > Atlantic Language will not cover costs that may arise as a result of the need for treatment or repatriation of a student. > Students are responsible for their own personal property. > Students are advised to insure against loss of fees and/ or expenses that may be incurred due to cancellation, sudden or early departure as Atlantic Language will offer no refunds for days missed, late arrival or early departure. VISAS > Students who are non-EU/EEA citizens may require a Study Visa to enter Ireland. For full details visit

www.inis.gov.ie to check which citizens require a Study Visa before arrival and which citizens can apply for a Permission to Remain after arrival > It is necessary to pay all school fees in advance when making a Visa Application. > Fees paid can only be refunded in the following cases: • Visa is refused before travelling to Ireland: All fees are refunded except an administrative fee of €300 • Permission to Land, on arrival Ireland, is refused and the student must return to their point of origin: All fees are refunded except an administrative fee of €300 > Fees will not be refunded if a Visa is Refused because of the submission of false information. > Fees cannot be refunded where a Visa is granted, even if the issuing of the Visa is delayed by the authorities. Where the issuing of a Visa is delayed, the Course and Accommodation Bookings may be deferred in entirety by the number of Visa delayed weeks, provided that at least 14 days written notice is provided to Atlantic Language to advise of the Visa delay. Course Fees may change if the Course does not take place in the calendar year. > It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of and comply with the Visa and Immigration Registration requirements of the Irish authorities. Atlantic Language will assist but cannot be responsible for students’ legal responsibilities. > Applications for Refunds must be made in writing to the Student Services Manager, Fairgreen House, Galway, Ireland > All Refund Applications must include the letters of Visa Refusal and the Visa Application or GNIB Number and clear proof that the applicant is not in Ireland. GENERAL CONDITIONS > Atlantic Language assumes no responsibility for loss, delay or accident of any kind whatsoever that may occur due to fault or negligence of any company or persons carrying out ancillary arrangements outside of its control. > The student is responsible for any damage or injury he/ she may cause to buildings, furniture, fittings, individuals’ or accommodation property, etc., while registered with Atlantic Language. > Atlantic Language reserves the right to change, without notice, the contents, dates, times, locations or any other details of course(s) brought about by political events, natural disasters, weather or any other events considered by the organisers to be pertinent. JUNIOR SUMMER STUDENT > A fully completed Parental Consent Form is required for each student under 18 years of age. > The use of alcohol, drugs or other proscribed substances is forbidden. Students found in possession or found taking alcohol, drugs or other proscribed substances will be sent home immediately at parents’/guardians’ expense. Group leaders or parents/guardians will be advised of the termination of the student’s stay and must make arrangements for the student’s immediate return home. No refund of fees will be permitted in this circumstance. > Under the provisions of Irish law young people under the age of 18 years of age may not visit Public Houses (Pubs) and they may not purchase alcohol or tobacco products. > Junior students are subject to a curfew: they must be at their nominated host family by 2230 each night and may not be away from their host family after this time except under specific supervision of a school nominated leader or their host family.
