LOCKS THAT LIVE UP TO YOUR GREATEST EXPECTATIONS LUSH launches a brand new range of hair care products – shampoos, conditioners and treatments – to care for, nourish and generally restore your mane to its very best
SHAMPOOS Blousey Shampoo ($29.95): A gentle shampoo for color-treated hair that will revitalize, restore, and have hair looking remarkable in no time. Nourishing bananas lock-in moisture and they are extremely softening and conditioning. Spices like pimento and anise help stimulate the scalp and hair growth and cocoa and cupuacu butter will moisturize and add shine. Hair is left feeling incredibly loved and smelling of rose, blackcurrant and juniperberry, with a little thyme and rosemary oils thrown in to repair the scalp. (Vegan)
Fair Trade Honey Shampoo ($9.95 - $29.95): This bottle is full of flower power, collected and concentrated for you by the bees. The base is over 50% fair trade honey and 20% linseed mucilage, both of which will moisturize and add lustre to your locks. Using this amount of honey means that we can make it preservative free, as honey is a concentrated form of sugar, bacteria will not stand a chance. Useful Tip: If you live in an area with hard water, the calcium in the water can build up and be harsh on hair. This shampoo is perfect for hard water homes as it softens and cleanses in a perfect balance. CONDITIONERS Big Solid Conditioner ($9.95 for 3.5oz): Inspired by the fantastically popular Big shampoo, this is the complementary solid conditioner. For all hair types, this conditioner comes in big slabs and you buy the weight you want, just like fresh produce. It contains 17% sea salt to help give hair volume and shine, without weighing it down. There’s also super softening coconut oil to condition the hair and help tame fly aways; candelilla wax and jojoba oil to nourish and add shine; lemon oil to help the cuticles lay flat; vegetable glycerine to seal in moisture; and an incredibly beautiful uplifting perfume of vanilla absolute, vetivert oil, jasmine absolute and bergamot oil. (Vegan) How to use: After you’ve shampooed your hair, gently stroke this onto your locks and rinse out for fragrant, bouncy tresses.
Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume ($12.95 - $39.95): Your hair will be feeling happy, happy, joy, joy after being conditioned with this star product! There’s almond milk to moisturize and strengthen hair; jojoba oil to add shine; and grapefruit and lime oils to refresh. What really sets this conditioner apart is the fragrance, it’s based around neroli and grapefruit as these oils bring the happy happy. The joy joy is what you spread as you float through your day! This is the perfect partner to Blousey shampoo. (Vegan)

MAMi 31
Mwanamke Mweusi Jordan has undoubtedly lived up to the high expectation that comes with a name that means strong, black woman. While she started her personal exploration with a specific goal along a well pounded career path, hoping to become an TV news anchor and attending Temple University. Now 20 years later it is obvious that she made several pit stops along the way which turned out to be very rewarding for this 42 year old young lady. MJ, as she is affectionately known is the mother of a wonderful 17-year-old daughter who is preparing for college and is the Manager of Administration & Adjudication for the Taxicab & Limousine Regulatory division for the City of Philadelphia. However, juggling her roles of word’s greatest mother and a high profile, demanding career hasn’t stopped her from pursing her passions and enjoying a robust social life. Since 2011 MJ was the relationship correspondent and co-host for an internet Video Magazine series and in early 2012 she created her own radio show for internet radio called the Experience. She is currently focusing on her daughter’s teen/young adult radio show, 4PlayRadio on thefnradio.com, in addition to a role she landed for a made for cable TV series which features the lives of 4 women in an urban version of Sex In the City meets Girlfriends. She also speaks of revisiting her revamped radio show now called Studio 8 with the hopes of possibly starting her own internet radio station. MJ’s world is full of family, friends, great events and social gatherings… she says that 42 isn’t necessarily better than 32, it’s just different but definitely just as much fun and exciting and she wouldn’t change a thing.

How did you start as a fashion designer? I started as a hobby when I was 5. My grandmother used to make dresses but unfortunately she passed before I was born. There is a tradition in our family that we do everything one by ourselves. When I was young and I wanted to have a dress, my mother said :”You can make it better!” Me and my older brother went to the Music School. He was playing the guitar and I was playing the piano, but we stopped after graduation. We realized that something is missing. Together with the parents we bought a knitting machine and started to experiment with yearns knitting to make dresses and pullovers for ourselves. It turned out that people liked them so much that they wanted to have them, too. That were the beginnings of our fashion brand. How do you define “Pletenine Draž” as a brand? What does this actually mean? “Draž ” in English means charm. “Draž Knitwork” is a brand existing for twenty years since 1994. In the beginning when I was a student we were looking for a way to create dresses that could be also sculptures. We went to some contests for young designers and we won the first award in Budapest from Paco Rabanne in 2002. We were very happy about and proud of the award. In the last decade the biggest challenge for us was to see that clients wore our creations for more than 10 years and the quality was still the same. Sometimes we repair our old dresses for the clients and we add new ideas how to improve that model. We want the creations to show the ladies are always ready to go out to an event but in the same time they feel comfortable as in a T-shirt. You have exclusive fashion? What we use mostly for the knitting is viscose, a 100% wooden material. Even after 10 years it still looks like new. All the dresses are washed at home, just flat drying, no chemical cleaning. Otherwise, viscose has no peeling. What do you offer for ladies in the fall-winter 2012? Our idea was to create a fall-winter 2012 collection with a special texture textile that looks like it is falling apart. MAMi

Eva Petrič, www.evapetric.com, multumedia visual artist, living and working in Vienna, Austria, and Ljubljana, Slovenia, interweaves and utilizes photography, video, sound/voice, installations, performance and literature, as her means of artistic expression. She exhibits all over the world. Her aim to surpass barriers of art separating it from everyday life motivated her to co-net her vision with the Draž Duo, Slovenia, resulting in the Abs-TRACT of the 2nd skin fi brin (body synopsis) line. part one Eva Petrič Abs-TRACT of the 2nd skin fi brin (body synopsis) Photographs translated into the Draž knittwear stem from my project Gr@y Matter- language of shadows, in which I investigate the communication abilities of shadows. In the periodical table of elements I replaced chemical elements with emotions, visualized by my images of shadows. Emotions are similar to shadows: we all have them whether we ackonwledge them or not. Even when we realize that we have them we too often put them in the shadow. The same can be said about our bodies. But instead of pushing them into shadows lets use the shadows on the Draž knittwear to protect, guard, shelter, defend… yes, yes, yes, the shadow connects us into a co-net! Zig zag zig zag tick tick tack zig zig zig zag – shadows and emotions, caught into curves, knots and loops of threads, interweaved into the Draž knitting line, echo not only the twists and turns of actions-reactions but also the layering and intertwining incorporating us into the 2nd skin fi brin. Abs-tract of the 2nd skin fi brin line – the transfer of my photographs of shadows into the Draž knittwear realizes my idea of a 2nd skin fi brin creation, prerequisite for survival in the current time of global ‘give and take’. Shadows are the body abs-TRACT, visualized, connecting us - as do the Draž-Duo’s garments into a merry go round labyirinth of kneated threads, connecting x and y, young and old, seen and unseen, the intro and extra vert of our personalities into an unconscious pattern. They externalize, exstract from our (intestine) TRACT the twists and turns of molecular and chemical reactions accumulated in transgenerational layering and knotting. Their attempt: to unknot the knots that block the passages in our bodies and our bodies moving in the complex network where the axis of time is perpendicular with space. We are like threads, caught into loops of emotions in the pattern of past and future generations… The trans-generational tract moving through the body has been invisible for too long because the body has been muted for too long in the visible, not looking to exTRACT also the invisible into the visible. “ Abs-TRACT of the 2nd skin fi brin attempts to help the body Re-voice its own voice buried somewhere within the dark space of our intestinal tract“

You will start a project for children. We are living in a society that is buying and throwing away all kind of things, including dresses. My vision is to offer to the children the opportunity to keep the clothes that they really love and are now too small for them. I would also like to see children thinking practically and to repair their old dresses and make them as new again. I started this way when I was 5. Thanks to this and to my mother’s advice I became creative, self-confident, practical and economical. I believe in the concept of saving the environment for future generations. To store things actually mean to destroy the nature. I would like to thank to Urška Draž for her cooperation during the interview, the information and photos that she kindly offered me. Also for the special presentation that she made about “Pletenine Draž” as a brand. Mihaela Nicoleta Micula European Editor at Mami International Magazine of Fashion and Music Art

MarikaTsircou www.marikatsircou.com www.twitter.com/marikatsircou Multitalented Beverly Hills mother and artist, Marika Tsircou is a critic’s favorite on ABC Family’s hit reality television series BEVERLY HILLS NANNIES and has been winning over viewers with her charming, witty and hilarious personality. Marika’s greatest and most important gift in her life has been the birth of her son, Xander. Since his birth in 2011, she has become an advocate and expert for breastfeeding through her extensive research as well as her own personal experiences. In addition, Marika is an amazing artist, specializing in oil paintings and photography. Her artwork consists of BodyScape photographs and Candy Pill paintings, both of which delve abstractly into her own personal struggles within the internal and external world. As a devoted mother, wife and artist, Marika is passionately involved in the arts. Her work is promoted and showcased in various exhibits/galleries throughout the Los Angeles area. What was the high point of filming Beverley Hills Nannies? And what was the low point? Meeting new people, being on TV, experiencing something new in life and working with so many great people and an amazing production company and network were all high points. The highest point though has been all my sweet fans on Twitter who have been so supportive and loving and who really get me. I’ve connected with a ton of moms and breastfeeding advocates like myself, which has been amazing. A whole new world of people has opened up and I consider my fans to be new friends. The low point, at times, was not liking who I was portrayed to be, not feeling as though
MAMi 110
it was my authentic self, though unfortunately that is simply the reality of being on reality TV. :) Please describe your art and what inspires you? My paintings and photographs seek to make sense of the perils that one encounters in the journey through life, and raises issues such as physical pain and stereotypical beliefs. My work tells a story while broaching questions in both direct and abstract ways. After undergoing multiple neck surgeries resulting from competitive hunter/ jumper horseback riding injuries, I know what it is to live with chronic pain and its repercussions. I instill parts of my own life into the work while offering attempts at explanations of how we navigate through life, conveying physical and emotional challenges. The BodyScape photographs contrast hardships with the external world, whereas the Candy Pill paintings delve abstractly into the internal world of struggle. Through my work I create images that are compelling and direct. I’m inspired by life experiences. What are your fashion must-haves? I live two different fashion “lives” now that I have a baby. My daytime “baby” wardrobe must be machine washable and comfortable because I’m running around with a toddler all day, getting dirty along with him. Between the park and meal times, he changes outfits a few times a day and my clothes are dirty by the end of the day! So jeans, shorts, some great tee-shirts, tanks, blouses, sweaters, maxi dresses and flats are what I live in with my baby. For my nighttime/going out wardrobe, I love sexy dresses, maxi dresses that are fancier than my daytime dresses, skinny pants, sexy blouses and Louboutins. I always favor a great dress because I have to think less about things with a dress and thinking less after a long day of running around
with a super active toddler is a huge plus! Share three of your best fashion or beauty tips? 1) Regular monthly facials. I need to get a facial at least every six weeks, preferably every month but I don’t have time anymore to go once a month. I am a firm believer in regular facials. 2) Always know that if you don’t feel comfortable you won’t look good. If you’re tugging at a skirt that’s too short or bra straps that show before you even leave the house, change your outfit! 3) A great pair of fitted jeans (or ten) are imperative and will take you from the playground paired with a basic tee and comfy flats to a date night paired with a sexy blouse and fab heels. What is the secret of surviving reality TV? The secret is being very comfortable and secure with whom you are because no matter whom you are and what you do people will judge you. Viewers can be very mean, and people are especially mean online when they are able to hide behind their anonymity. Even though it’s nearly impossible you have to get to a place where you decide not to care what people think of you. Of course, it feels great to have amazing, loving, and supportive fans. I just read an article that Ashley Judd wrote that said five years into her acting career she decided not to read the positive or negative press about her because they were both irrelevant to who she knew herself to be. Hopefully someday I will be able to get to that place! How do you feel about attachment parenting which advocates for extended breast-feeding, co-sleeping and schooling as mandated by the child?
MAMi 111
MAMi 112
We definitely did Dr. Sears’ method for a while. We co-slept for six months, which I think is really important. The first six months your baby needs to nurse and be near you all night long. I still baby-wear Xander, even at fifteen months. It’s a great way of bonding with your baby. I have always nursed on demand. I’m a HUGE breastfeeding advocate and plan to allow my child to self-wean which just
feels natural to me. If he wants to go till 3 or 4 then so be it. He will know when he’s ready to give it up. I put my child to sleep for 99% of his naps and at night since it involves nursing and I schedule our plans around his nap time and bedtime as a child’s sleep is very important developmentally. Nursing a toddler is a huge gift that many people who wean at a year or earlier don’t experience. It’s the BEST
way to soothe your child when he’s hurt, teething and sick and is the most amazing bonding experience. I think attachment parenting is great in some ways, but not all. Unless he’s sick or teething he sleeps in his own crib in his room and has done so since six months. After a long day with my child I need a little downtime too! Every mother has to take what works and leave the rest.

Spyker C8 Aileron MAMi 134
MAMi 135
In its design, the C8 Aileron marks a new chapter in the company's history. Spyker still hews to the aviation-inspired design, but in the new model, a reduced amount of chrome and polished parts plus redesigned airflow around the car give it a more grown-up and cleaner appearance. The five-valve, four-cam 4.2-liter V8 engine still comes from Audi's parts shelf and is now able to send its 400 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox from Getrag or an all-new six-speed automatic gearbox from ZF. New, lighter and aviation-inspired 19 inch "Rotorblade" alloy wheels and a totally new developed suspension featuring double wishbones and vertically placed shock absorbers provide an improved ride quality for both street and track purposes. On top of that, Spyker will offer optional carbon-ceramic brakes from AP Racing by the end of the year.

Inside, Spyker still writes "luxury" in capital letters: Top-level leather in 14 standard colors, a Kharma sound system incorporating multimedia features such as satellite navigation, Bluetooth, CD player and iPod and optional Chronoswiss dials should satisfy even the most demanding driver. The Spyker C8 Aileron is priced at the equivalent of $312,390 for the manual-transmission model and $324,750 for the model with automatic transmission.
