History 'The history we read [...] though based on facts, is, strictly speaking, not factual at all, but a series of accepted judgements.’ Is history just written by the victors?

History (the study of past events, particularly in human affairs.)

Victor (a person who defeats an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition.)

What is your theme? How are you exploring is visually? (methodology) Why are you doing it this way? Materials? Any key theorists who have influenced this?

The theme I’m planning on working with throughout my sketchbook is in a simplified sentence “history is fake”. I want to try and use plenty of collage to highlight that these are things that have actually happened throughout the world- that what im creating is pieces noting on the actual lies that political figureheads have said in the past. I’m not entirely sure how to show this but I think I’ll start by using shapes and an abstract approach. I want to finish my sketchbook perhaps with some pieces that really highlight some of the biggest and worst lies in history- or perhaps some of the most recent ones that are really strikingly obvious yet still somehow being taken as fact.

Historical lies usually proven through photos‌but when they cant be what happens?

• Don’t want to just draw history- or what I image history would be like • An abstract approach could work really well in this scenario • Look at the deeper meanings and symbolism in the process behind “faking history”

Easy to manipulate the public through propaganda art and therefore begin altering history through word of mouth‌

I really quite like the conceptual type of art that’s coming from this and even without knowing the meaning behind it I think its quite effective?

Further work is still kind of conceptual but you can begin to understand what it means a lot better

Political figureheads currently in the spotlight are constantly drawn and collaged in manipulating ways or to push different agenders‌

Been told to keep the red theme up to go with political stances as well as power and death.
