Seeking Spiritual Solace For Chronic Insomnia Sleep disorders are disturbance while sleeping that affects the quality and quantity of sleep an individual gets. An average human adult requires at least six to eight hours of proper sleep in order to maintain proper health. Failing to get adequate health can lead to heart problems, brain fatigue, weak physique, drowsiness during the day, etc. The quality of sleep that a person gets during his sleeping hours also has an impact on their lifestyle. Most people have dark circles under their eyes and sagging facial muscles because they do not get good quality of sleep. Noisy surroundings, high temperatures, extreme cold, medication, chronic pains, etc. are the main causes that can affect the quality of sleep of an individual.

It is quite common in today’s world for most people to suffer from sleep disorders. Although most of this is temporary in nature due to short-term anxiety, nervousness or stress, there are extreme conditions like chronic insomnia which can wreck an individual’s life mentally and physically. There are two types of insomnia basically: primary insomnia and chronic insomnia. Primary insomnia is caused by factors like that are common in daily life like lack of physical activity, workplace stress, working extra time, traveling between time zones, etc. However, chronic insomnia is a dangerous mental disorder. It is identified by the mental health fraternity as a deadly disorder which if not rectified in the earlier stages can turn a person into a lunatic. The main symptoms of chronic insomnia are lack of sleep for days long; in most cases the average sleepless days would count up to a week or more. This state of condition could be caused to genetic characteristics, chemical imbalances in the body, overload of mental stress, etc. Stress, anxiety, anger and such related negative emotions can disturb the brain activity of a person significantly.
