INGREDIENTS HIGH QUALITY GROUND COFFEE UNSALTED GRASS FED BUTTER COCONUT OIL OR MCT OIL
Ever wondered what all the hype is over bulletproof coffee? Well it’s all down to Dave Osprey, health food podcaster. Mixing coffee, butter and coconut oil and drinking it as a meal replacement is meant to help you lose weight and gain energy. But does it really work? There has been a craze amongst health food bloggers trying out this trend, and whilst there has been a mixture of reviews, one thing that is clear is that it does improve your energy levels. This is great for all the early birds out there and for those looking for that extra energy boost, whether you’re on your way to work or on your way to climb a mountain.
METHOD 1. Brew a pot of high quality coffee in a cafetiere or whatever method you prefer. 2. Mix in a blender with 1-2 tablespoons of organic grass fed butter and 1-2 tablespoons of MCT or coconut oil. Beginners should start off with 1 tablespoon and increase the amount over time. 3. LUCY TURNBULL 21. ILLUSTRATION. ARTS UNIVERSITY BOURNEMOUTH.
What influenced you to become an illustrator? I’ve always loved drawing and creating things and found illustration to be perfect a creative platform as it’s such an open subject. I get to create imagery using a range of materials and visuals and there is just always something I can expand on.
illustration and putting my work onto products. So maybe a mix of the lot. I’d love to collaborate with a product maker that I supply the imagery for.
What are you working on right now? I’m making an illustrated guide book of borough market, Londons most renowned food
When did you start drawing?
market.
When I was at school I was always drawing, mainly pictures of Barbies and Bratz because it’s what interested me at the time. After that I began drawing everything around me, from the food I eat
What is the worst part about working as a creative?
to the people I see, whatever interests me.
What is your favourite piece of work? Over the summer I began to get really interested in repeat pattern and began drawing recipe ingredients and then forming them into repeat patterns in Photoshop. It was something I really enjoyed doing and is something that I’ve carried on into my final year of uni. So my series of repeat patterns would probably be my favourite.
Whose work inspires you? When I was in college I came across an illustrator called Julia Rothman. She draws a variety of subjects, people, cities, and incorporates humour into her work. Her illustrations are realistic and she tells the truth with them. She puts a lot of her work on Instagram so is abit of motivation when I’m scrolling through the app.
What is your dream job when you finish university? That’s something I’m currently figuring out. I’m really interested in book making but I also have a passion for fashion
The short amount of time you have to produce work and losing direction. A lot of the time if we have an editorial deadline, it’s a short turn around time so there’s not a lot of time to change your mind several times which is what normally happens.
What is the best part about working as a creative? Getting to do something you love.
How has your work changed over the years? I’ve started to use technology within my work. Before I would colour everything in with watercolours and now I use Photoshop. It means I can experiment more with colours and erase it if I don’t like it.
What do you do when you are not drawing? As I am at university, when I’m not doing work I spend time with my friends, going out, shopping and drinking a lot of coffee.
How does the creative process begin for you? I get a lot of inspiration from social media and brands, but I usually end up changing my ideas at least 5 times before I’m happy with something.
