Associação Transumância e Natureza

The Associação Transumância e Natureza (ATN) is a local environmental NGO, whose mission is to conserve, value, study and promote the natural heritage of Northeast Portugal, through sustainability and community participation, by managing and protecting natural areas. The Faia Brava Reserve, located at the Côa Valley canyon, is the first private protected area in Portugal, created and managed by ATN for nature conservation. With the help of hundreds of national and international volunteers and members, ATN has been able to improve the conditions of priority habitats and species, through surveillance, active restoration techniques and through education activities.
