Alice Lenkiewicz

I am an artist and writer. . When I was younger, I would often write and support my work with illustrated drawings and collage. Looking back, I was taken by the idea of the illustrated memoir, fiction, notebook and short story. It began with my fascination with Girl annuals, led towards a love of fashion magazines and then towards, the illustrated diary and quarterly such as The Yellow Book, illustrated by Aubrey Beardsley and The Revue blanche 1891. After moving to the North West, I completed a Masters in Writing studies. During this time, I wrote prose and poetry. I set up the poetry magazine, Neon Highway in 2002. Neon Highway (ISSN: 1476-9867) My thesis, 'Maxine', an illustareated novella was published in Paperback: 88 pages Publisher: bluechrome Publishing (24 Sep 2005) My book of illustrated poems, 'Men Hate Blondes' was published in Paperback: 108 pages Publisher: original plus (1 Nov 2009) I continue to paint and write my creative process.
