Amasya is a lovely city with a historical and cultural accumulation of 7500 years,located at Yesilirmak Valley in Middle Black Sea Region of Anatolia which is a treasure hiding numerous cultural values of civilizations it has hosted within history and which carries the past to the future.In Amasya,where has been a centre for science,arts and politics for a long period,many science and arts people have been raised.Besides the lineages sent to the Ottoman throne,our city had an important place in the War of Independence.It has been the place where thoughts of Turkish Republic to be established were commenced by ‘Determination and decision of the nation shall save independence of the nation’ saying of Ataturk.

Amasya; tarih boyunca ev sahipliği yaptığı medeniyetlerin sayısız kültür değerlerinin saklandığı bir hazine olan, geçmişi geleceğe taşıyan güzel Anadolu’nun,Orta Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde, Yeşilırmak Vadisi’nde 7500 yıllık tarih ve kültür birikimine sahip şirin bir ilimizdir.Köklü geçmişinin yanı sıra uzunca süre bilim,sanat ve siyaset merkezi de olan Amasya’da,ünleri tarihe mal olmuş pek çok ilim ve sanat adamı yetişmiştir.Osmanlı tahtına gönderdiği şehzadelerin yanı sıra ,Milli Mücadele döneminde de önemli bir yer edinen şehrimiz,Atatürk’ün ‘Milletin bağımsızlığını yine milletin azim ve kararı kurtaracaktır.’ Sözü ile kurulacak Türk Cumhuriyeti düşüncesinin filizlendiği yer olmuştur.

Let’s Learn More about Zubeyde Hanim Ucler Primary School…

Zubeyde Hanım Ucler Primary School was established in 1927.The school is located in Amasya which is in a narrow valley of a river among mountains.The school has pre-primary and primary schools.In the pre-primary school,there are 80 pupils aged between 4 and 6.In the primary school part,there are 583 students aged between 7 and 10. There are also 33 immigrant students from the Middle East countries.Besides the school management,the school staff consists of 36 teachers and three employees.

Zübeyde Hanım Üçler İlkokulu 1927 tarihinde, dağlar arasında, bir vadi görümünde olan Amasya’da kurulmuştur.Okul öncesi ve ilkokul olarak hizmet vermektedir.Okul öncesinde,4-6 yaş aralığında 80,ilkokulda ise yaşları 7-10 aralığında olan 583 öğrencisi mevcuttur.Bu öğrencilerden 33’ü Orta Doğu ülkelerinden göç eden öğrencilerdir.Okul personeli,okul yönetiminin yanı sıra 36 öğretmen ve 3 hizmetliden oluşmaktadır.

The project was welcomed with joy in our school Erasmus+ Strategic School Partnership Project, 'Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls', supported by the European Union, which Zübeyde Hanım Primary School is also a partner was approved. This development was welcomed with joy in our school which was involved in such projects before. Our school teachers and students were informed about the project by informative meetings. The school manager, Hasan Hüseyin Aktaş, our legal representative in the project, explained the following about the project: ‘’We are constantly in the process of renewing and developing ourselves to increase the quality and effectiveness of our school's education and training. For this reason, we wanted to take advantage of opportunities offered by the European Union, to inform our school teachers and students about these opportunities and to improve their visions. We aimed to observe the education system in European countries in their own place and to disseminate by bringing the ones that fit our own system into our school environment.

We are aware of this project, in which Greece is the coordinator and Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy,Spain and Turkey are partners, is an important step in reaching our goals. Therefore, we would like to include all students and their parents in the project as well as school administrators and teachers. In addition to discovering similarities and differences between cultures, learning more about the nature and outdoor learning activities will certainly improve our students' imagination world, provide more creative thinking, and increase their success also in other subjects. We are proceeding our project studies presented to us in order to utilize this opportunity in the most effective way. I would like to thank firstly the project team of our school for their hard work and our teachers, students who contributed the education and training.’

Zübeyde Hanım Üçler İlkokulu'nun ortak olarak yer aldığı Avrupa Birliğince desteklenen Erasmus + Stratejik Okul Ortaklıkları projesi 'Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls', ‘Duvarlar Ardındaki Dört Mevsimi Hisset’ kabul edildi. Bu gelişme, önceki dönemde de bu tür faaliyetlerde yer almış olan okulumuzda sevinçle karışılandı. Zübeyde Hanım Üçler İlkokulu’nun geçen seneden beri devam etmekte olan bir projesi daha mevcuttur. Projede yasal temsilcisi olan Okul müdürü Hasan Hüseyin Akbaş yeni projeye ilişkin şu açıklamada bulundu: ' Okulumuzdaki eğitim-öğretim kalitesini ve etkisini arttırmak için sürekli kendini yenileme ve geliştirme çabası içerisindeyiz. Bu sebepten dolayı Avrupa Birliği'nin bize sunmuş olduğu fırsatlardan yararlanmak, okul öğretmen ve öğrencilerimizi bu şanslardan haberdar edip vizyonlarını geliştirmek niyetindeyiz.Avrupa ülkelerindeki eğitim sistemini yerinde görmeyi, kendi sistemimize uygun olanları okul ortamımıza taşıyıp yaygınlaştırmayı ve kendi kültürümüzden de bir şeyler yerleştirebilmeyi hedef aldık.Koordinatörlüğünü Yunanistan'ın üstlendiği, Türkiye,Bulgaristan,İtalya,Hırvatistan,Fransa ve İspanya'nın ortak olarak katıldığı bu projenin hedeflerimize ulaşmamızda önemli bir basamak olduğunun farkındayız.Bu yüzden okul idarecileri ve öğretmenlerinin yanı sıra tüm öğrenci ve velilerimizi de projeye dahil etmek arzusundayız.Projemizde kültürler arası benzerlik ve farklılıkları keşfetmenin yanı sıra, öğrencilerimizin hayata bakış açılarını geliştirecek ve değişterecek,daha yaratıcı ve pratik düşünmelerini sağlayacak ve diğer derslerde de başarılarını arttıracak olan faaliyetlerle tasarlanmıştır. Our project 'Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls' is based on outdoor learning which is also supported education method in the 21st century.As the project partner schools , we want to practise more flexible,more attractive and more effective learning by the help of outdoor learning activities.

What have we done until now for the project?...

We established our project team consists of twenty-five students aged between 8-10.We got official permissions of their parents for joining the planned activities under Erasmus+,’Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls’ Project. The students took the common exam about the nature created by the all partners.According to the results,we determined the subjects that had to be improved more before the trips in the nature.University students guided by the Associate Professor Dr. Cengiz Yıldırım of the Amasya University,Education Faculty -as one of the most important stakeholders of our projectpresented the subjects at the Zübeyde Hanim Ucler Primary School for two days.Because of addressing to the young pupils,they presented the subjects via games,role-play,competitions,cartoons and animations,etc.Our pupils enjoyed too much while learning the secrets about the nature.

We organised our trips in the nature.The members of the school management,some of the teachers,parents and 25 students participated the trips.We performed our planned activities;a joyful trekking in the pasture and mountains,taking photos in the nature, playing didactic and enjoyable group games based on the objectives of our project –‘Tressure Hunt’ and ‘Orienteering’,planting saplings.

The leader of our school scout team informed the students about the nature,plants,the specific signs and methods in the nature to find the right direction.We had great time together.Our students experienced and felt the nature. They discovered,touched,smelt, listened to the nature.

Dissemination‌ We are aware of how important the dissemination activities of our project.We have designed our project wall at the school.Not only our teachers and students but also the parents are learning more about our project by the help of these activities which are updated periodically. The project banner was designed and hung at the entrance of the Zubeyde Hanim Ucler Primary School. The t-shirts and caps for the Erasmus+ project were designed for new adventures in the nature.We designed our project website and created a project group on social media.

Welcoming Spring Celebration…

The 21st of the March is regarded as the start of spring.So March 21 is a day to celebrate ‘Welcoming Spring’ as a cultural tradition in Turkey.We have kept the Nevruz tradition alive up to the present day. Zubeyde Hanim Ucler Primary School organized the ‘Nevruz Celebration’ in the school garden ,too. Various activities were performed in our school garden such as preparing large fire,painting eggs,folk dances with the traditional musical instruments,competitions-games among the students and the show of our school scout team.Thanks to the sunny and warm weather,our students had fun together and absolutely felt the Spring.The school staff and our parents participated the enjoyable activities,too.This was a nice cultural activity for our ‘Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls’ project. We wish the spring brings you health,happiness and success with its brightly shining sun and the nature with its different colours…

Time to recycle materials…

Recycling is the process of conventing waste materials into new materials and objects.Absolutely, recycling benefits the environment.It can be accepted as an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment.Recycling is an important part of our project,’Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls.

Recycling activities prepared were for pupils at the school. Some bottles,cans,plastics and tins were recycled by them.The pupils designed boxes for recycling such as plastic,paper,glass and battery,they created different objects by using their own creative ideas and exhibited their works.

Environment Exhibition Experience …

The Management of Environment and Urban Planning-one of our important stakeholders in the project ; ‘Feel the Four Seasons Beyond the Walls’ arranged an exhibition about the ‘environment’ on the World Environment Day-5th June.Our students visited the exhibition.

Scouting;education for life...

Scouting provides opportunities to kids for participating activities that contribute to their growth as active and good individuals.There is a well-organised Scout Club of Zubeyde Hanim Ucler Primary School under the control of scout leader.We are proud of the success of our scouting for boys and girls.Besides our students,their parents and our teachers are scout vounteers.By the spring,they have started their amazing activities and camping.They are learning and practising more about the nature properly.

29th October Republic Day Republic Day marks the creation of the Turkish Republic in 1923. After Turkey’s victory in the War of Independence (1919-1923), the Turkish parliament proclaimed the new Turkish state as a republic. A new constitution, which the parliament adopted on October 29, 1923, replaced the constitution of the Ottoman Empire. The leader in the Turkish War of Independence, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, became the country’s first president on the same day.Many people in Turkey celebrate Republic Day on October 29 by attending performances and participating in traditional processions with the Turkish flags.Atatürk proclaimed Republic Day as Turkey’s most important holiday.This year we celebrated the 95th year of the Turkish Republic. Our students participated in school performances such as theater sketches,poetry reading,traditional folk dances and songs for their teachers and parents.

23rd April Sovereignty and Children's Day

T

he founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal AtatĂźrk, dedicated the April 23 to the children of the country to emphasize that they are the future of the nation. Every year, the children in Turkey celebrate this "Sovereignty and Children's Day" on the 23rd of April as a national holiday.The festival was celebrated with enthusiasm in our city Amasya,too.The governor,the mayor the national education manager of Amasya participated the celebration.The primary schools were decorated colorfully.Our national flag was everywhere.The students read the national poems,performed dance shows,sang the national songs and participated competitions.

Outdoor Sports Activities For Fun‌ Outdoor sports activities for kids offer various benefits, including physical and social. The physical benefits include building muscle, gaining acute flexibility, improving balance and coordination, losing weight, and general endurance.The social benefits of outdoor sports are extremely obvious and, well, beneficial. Partaking in sports activities with others increases social interaction, forces kids to work together toward a goal, and creates a sense of competition which each kid can tap into later in life in various situations.Additionally, social interaction will improve other facets such as leadership, self esteem, and general teamwork through the construct of the sports games the mselves.As a primary school ,we usually organise enjoyable outdoor sportive activities among the students,too.

Croatia mobility Four students from our center together with two teachers, traveled to Croatia to enjoy the wonderful experience of living with other boys and girls of their age from different countries. It was a unique and unrepeatable opportunity for them.

THE THREE FOUNTAINS

It has been an invaluable experience for our students!

Coexistence in The Three Fountains, natural place of our town.

Night orientation, games of search, night in tents, visit to an old quarry, observation of local flora (rosemary, pine, rockrose, hypericum, carob...), how the hives and reptiles work: stair snake , California python snake, which is an invasive species, ocellated lizards and bastard snake!

Pinoso is green In our town, through the city hall, many activities are promoted to contribute to the care of the environment. Among them we highlight some such as:

TREE DAY Besides enjoying the natural environment of our city,

we also promote the practice of sport using the bicycle. Participants in this activity will carry out a planting of native species such as: pine, piĂąoro, rosemary and efreda

CLLASSROOM OF NATURE This natural space hosts environmental activities, workshops, hiking routes and free days every weekend. The objective is to promote the use of the facilities, improve the attention during the camping and offer the citizens of Pinoso and nearby towns a quality service and continued to enjoy the moments of leisure and free time in nature. This service will be provided by Planeta Caracol, a company specializing in environmental education and management of natural areas, which in addition to programming activities and serving users and campers, will be responsible for the general maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities.

Enviromental volunteer It is "extremely important the work that is done in volunteering to maintain our sites," a work aimed at "training, maintenance and monitoring of our environment" calling on all young people to be involved in this project, "that It serves to form a family. "

Green week This week was born, thanks to several teachers who years ago, created this week as a complement to the subject of environment, and that after more than 20 years has been fully established. The most important thing is for children to become aware of the best way possible such as games and expressed their satisfaction with the involvement of schools.

OUR SCHOOL

The 24th Primary School of Volos is a six-classes (grades) school. There are 20 teachers and about 150 students aged between 6 and 12 years old.!!!

We work on a morning basis from 8:10 till 16:00. The regular timetable is from 8:10 till 13:15 and the schedule till 16:00 is for children whose parents wish to leave them at school for lunch and studying, since they work and won’t be home earlier than that.

Special teachers teach foreign languages, PE, music, computer studies and drama. They are taught English in the the 1 st and 2nd grade for 1 hour per week, and from the 3rd grade and on for three hours per week, and French or German(according to their preference) in the last two grades. So they get very enthusiastic to learn about new cultures and ideas There is also a special treatment class for students who face learning problems, so they get extra help on a daily basis for one or two hours and they attend their class subjects for the rest of the day. This special treatment class also helps students of foreign origins, since there are quite a few foreign students mostly Albanians.

Our students enjoy their participation to European programmes, like Erasmus, and we as teachers think such efforts are crucial for their future. We want to broaden our students horizons and develop a viewpoint of the world ,language, race, human values that aims to loving what is different and taking all the good things from it. Erasmus+ projects are a unique opportunity for our students to interact with different social environments. We tend to help them speak English more effectively, to which they might not have given the necessary importance before, and use computer and other communication means more competently.By getting to know peers from other countries they develop a viewpoint of the world ,language, race, human values that aims to loving what is different and taking all the good things from it. Furthermore they learn to interact in different social environments.

The city of Volos has a history that goes back to the pre-historic times.

Excavations have shown that the villages of Sesclo and Dimini which border the city were inhabited from 6000 B.C the first and 3000 B.C the second one.

The ancient name of the city was Iolkos, the home town of Jason, the king of Iolkos, who travelled by Argo (the famous ship) as far as the ancient Cholhis (today’s Georgia) to get the golden fleece in order to gain back his father’s throne.

Last but not least the nearby mountain of Pelion was the home of Centaurs (the mythical creatures who bred and passed their wisdom to Asklipios the father of medicine).

There are museums (archaeological, cultural, industrial, folk, art) which our students visit through their school life, depending on their school subjects and aims, following each museum’s educational programme The school takes part in local schools championships of various sports organised by the municipality.

The students also have the opportunity to go skiing and hiking to the Pelion mountain, on the basis of programmes organised by the municipality, accompanied by special PE trainers.

There is an educational environmental centre which organises school environmental programmes and training programmes for teachers, which have been attended by most of the teachers of our school.

Every spring there is a music festival in the town and schools take part in it, since there is a music school in Volos with a famous orchestra, named Estoudiantina, named after the small music groups which came to Greece from Smyrni,Ionia.

Every September, at the beginning of the school year, the school staff attends seminars to get informed about the new policies of the Ministry of Education and the European Community programmes.

WINTER TRIP For our first nature trip about winter, we went near the school, around the pond with the environnement coordinator, Ambassadors of Nature (we can see them with their Erasmus logo bags), other pupils, parents and grandparents.

Pupils made a lot of activities : drawings of landscape and trees, questionnaire about the different parts of a tree, drawings of leaves, drawings of tree trunks They tried to associate the leaf with its tree and to find the age of trees.

They calculated the height of some trees. Then, they played a game where they had to find what is made with the trunk, with the branches, with sap, with roots…

Everyone enjoyed this activity !

Winter : second trip.

Some of our students did the second winter trip. This time, they learned about water : water cycle, the rainwater harvesting in our school town, the lack of water and pollution... They met a municipal employee who explained them how he captures rainwater and what are the uses. They also worked with an environnement coordinator.

Soon, more informations about that trip, prepared by children. They'll have to present the other children of the school what they learned.

Gaelic football cycle Some students participated in 6 sessions of "Gaelic football". The activities were led by Amandine and Erwan, two animators invested respectively in the clubs of Rennes and Fougères. This sportive as well as cultural meeting with this Irish sport contributes to a better knowledge of Europe, as part of the Erasmus project of the school.

GARDENING WORKSHOP

On the occasion of gardening week, the younger students went to a gardening market. They enjoyed workshops around aromatic plants, small animals from the garden and planting flowers. The students left proudly with their flowery planters! This “little trip� launched the establishment of a gardenat school, action planned in the Erasmus project of the school.

SPRING TRIP IN THE FOREST Students went to the local forest for the spring trip.

They learned about the different stages of the forest, the flora and the big and little hidden animals, the cycle of life‌

I.C. Sant’Elia-Commenda Our school I.C. Sant’Elia-Commenda has got 6 different buildings in 2 different areas of the town. Both areas are very populated. There are about 900 students aged from 2 and a half to 13 years old. There are about 90 permanent teachers and about 10 temporary teachers.

Our school organizes a lot of activities and projects to better understand our land, our local products and traditions. Most of our families care a lot about their children education and understand how important is to meet students and teachers from other European cultures and they hope and want that. Their awareness about the importance of meeting students and teachers from other European countries increase the interest in learning foreign languages and improve digital competences. Our main goal is to give them a more attractive education, innovative teaching, recognition and validating competences which can in some cases prevent school early leaving and for this reason no choice to get a job. In our institution students study English and French but also we are giving an extra course for the Spanish language.

In the last 5 years we have offered mother-tongue classes aiming to get Cambridge Certification exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers, Ket..) Studying a foreign language is also an opportunity to learn not only grammar and conversation, but also history and geography, habits, political systems of these countries as well that is understanding social, linguistic and cultural diversity. Students have also the opportunity to join CCR the City Hall citizenship project where there are general election for the junior Mayor of the city and his/her councilors. We also offer the journalism project with the national newspaper “La Repubblica”, the dances and music courses, th national Maths contest with the Bocconi University of Milan, sports teams, drama club, and penpals club with skype support, etwinning projects and a student exchange programme with France. Our school doesn’t close in summer..we also have 2 weeks English camp in summer with young mother English and American mother tongue tutors.

TORRE GUACETO TRIP: The Nature reserve of Torre Guaceto is located on the Adriatic coast between the coast of Ostuni and Brindisi. The area extends for 7 km inland and for 20 km of coast. The reserve contains a remarkable diversity of habitats and landscapes ranging from the marine reserve inhabited by turtles, to wetlands and marshes inhabited by amphibians and birds. The area is also characterized by the presence of sandy dunes and beaches. An important feature of Torre Guaceto is its marine reserve. The exceptional backdrops, both rocky and sandy, preserve different animals and plants of particular beauty. Inside the marine reserve there are three zones, each offering a different type of protection and specific natural features: Zone A is a full protection area. Here is allowed only scientific research and, with permission, marine excursions are possible. Zone B is a partial protection area. It extends north of the tower and bathing/ swimming is permitted. Zone C is a partial protection area. It extends south to Apani and bathing/swimming is permitted but only with permission.

ERASMUS TRIP The Archaeological and natural park of Santa Maria di Agnano is located at 2 km from Ostuni on the road from Ostuni to Fasano (SS16).

Inside this park were found remains from the Neolithic, Japigian-Messapian and Medieval ages. Casts of these finds are today displayed in the Museum of "CiviltĂ preclassiche della Murgia meridionale" located in the historic centre of Ostuni (via Cattedrale, 15).

Inside one of the caves of the park was discovered the skeleton later called "Delia", today commonly known as "Ostuni 1". This is a skeleton of an 8 months pregnant woman of about 20 years old, dating back 26,000 years. Along with these remains were also found funeral kits, a shell necklace, a headpiece and many other items .

In more modern times the site of Santa Maria of Agnano was used as a place of worship of the Virgin Mary. Inside it the icon of the Virgin frescoed on a wall can still be seen today.

Every year our younger students live the unique experience of the grapes vineyard. Today Friday September 21st they have woken up earlier than usual and started cutting grapes like professional workers. The Cantina Masciullo between Brindisi and Mesagne is very well known for the Negramaro and Chardonnay wine. Our traditions help our children to appreciate the values of working hard respecting nature..SALUTE!!!!

GETTING TO KNOW STUDENTS FROM THE WORLD!!

Ottobre: festa dei nonni I bambini di cinque anni della Scuola dell’Infanzia hanno accolto a scuola i loro nonni per trascorrere insieme momenti straordinari ed emozionanti. Un modo semplice per ringraziarli per l’amore infinito e per le attenzioni quotidiane rivolte loro, ma soprattutto per essere delle persone importantissime e sempre presenti nella loro vita. L’entrata in sezione dei nonni è stata rallegrata da un canto di “Benvenuti nella nostra scuola” e dai visi sorridenti dei piccoli.

Dopo le presentazioni, i bambini non hanno perso tempo per porre loro delle domande relative alle storie, alle merende e ai giochi tipici dell’infanzia dei nonni, i quali nel rispondere erano emozionatissimi. Infatti, si leggeva nello sguardo di ognuno di loro la gioia di aver fatto, anche se solo per un istante, un salto nel passato, ritornando agli anni della spensieratezza e delle forti emozioni e questo grazie ai nipotini.

Momento particolare è stato anche quello in cui i nonni hanno aiutato i bambini a completare il proprio albero genealogico, al fine di evidenziare che mamma e papà sono un frutto dell’amore, proprio come loro.

Poi si è passati all’azione: tutti a fare le ORECCHIETTE! La festa si è conclusa con una sana e gustosa merenda a base di pane e marmellata e con la

October/November The autumn festival Every October our kindergarden students celebrate this beautiful season which starts with the beginning of the school year. Children learn through games and rhymes and riddles the meaning of this season. They also touch and smell chestnuts, grapes and fruits of the seasons to finish with an healthy snack with jam made only with fruit of our favourite season: autumn!

Speaking real language: meeting exchange students.

In our school we meet exchange students for conversational activity: they are usually from Australia but also from Japan, Canada or Argentina. They live in Italian families to learn Italian culture and ..taste Italian food. They help our children to know their countries and this is the best way to do it!!

SPORT DAY: SPRING TIME Sport is very important in our school. Every year in April our older students participate at local and national sport competition. They run 100 mt and long jump, shot put or high jump. They train all year round and take it very seriously. They have a day out at the local athletics truck and enjoy the event very much. When they get very good results they go to Rome for National competition.

MATHS OLYMPIC GAMES Every year in February our school take place to this national Maths competition which since 1989 has been working to promote Maths teaching and give the right value to the top brain in Maths. They are logical exercises, very challenging for our students. A lot of our students participate and some of them go to Bari when they pass the local step. We really believe Maths is worth the efforts!.

E’ NATALE!!! IT IS CHRISTMAS TIME!!

A dicembre i bambini della nostra scuola si esibiscono in spettacoli natalizi alla presenza dei genitori. Lo spettacolo, dal titolo “L’alfabeto del Natale “, ha rappresentato l’occasione per far vivere ai bambini l’atmosfera del Natale tra canti e brevi parte recitate.

GENNAIO: La Befana I bambini del nostro istituto hanno trov ato al rientro delle vacanze una gradita sorpresa: tante calze appese al camino piene di caramelle e una simpatica vecchietta a cavallo di una scopa. La Befana prima di ripartire definitivamente, ha deciso di passare a salutarli. Ha distribuito caramelle e anche un po’ di carbone. I bambini stupiti ma felici le hanno regalato canzoni e balletti.

FESTA IN MASCHERA: EVVIVA IL CARNEVALE!!!

Febbraio, il mese del Carnevale una meravigliosa festa in maschera, quale momento conclusivo delle attività laboratoriali dedicate al carnevale. Le insegnanti hanno coinvolto i bambini e le bambine nella realizzazione di maschere in cartone e personaggi tipici (pagliaccio, fatine ed animali), che sono diventati elementi di decorazione degli spazi comuni. Il plesso, così allegramente “travestito” insieme a commenti musicali classici e pop, è diventato lo scenario all’interno del quale mascherine grandi e piccole hanno potuto godere del gioco e della magia, di questa festa sempre tanto attesa.

JUNE : ENGLISH CAMP!!!

Il metodo Bell Beyond LOOK ,LISTEN AND REPEAT, un metodo naturale di apprendimento che si serve giochi, canzoni, action games , laboratori artistici, attività CLIL, storytelling interattivo, water games, treasure hunt all’aperto.

Il metodo ludico-didattico utilizzato all’ English Camp stimola la produzione orale e motiva lo studente a esprimersi spontaneamente in inglese. La lingua viene così acquisita e fissata in modo naturale, i bambini e ragazzi imparano attraverso il gioco e il divertimento senza alcuno sforzo.

Gli iscritti provenienti da tutte le scuole di Brindisi e provincia, coloratissimi nelle loro uniformi Bell, si stanno cimentando per la seconda settimana di attività nella splendida pineta della SSPG di Via Mantegna, location ideale per il camp. Sono a scuola senza sentire di esserlo e imparano tanto: nuove parole, nuove espressioni, una nuova cultura. Days of Bread and Fruits of Earth In our school the week between 15.10-19.10.2018. we had a manifestaion called Days of bread and fruits of the Earth. As part of this manifestation pupils, their parents and school staff were involved in a praiseworthy humanitarian action to collect food for families in need.

The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Bilje on Friday, 19th October 2018, took over packages of food from school.

Each class, with the help their teachers made and arranged one humanitarian box for one family. The pupils, their parents and the employees of the Primary School Bilje decided this year to celebrate the Day of Bread and Fruits of the Earth by helping those who need it in hope that they will at least have a glimpse of light to their everyday life.

European Language Day Every year in our school we celebrate European Day of Languages on 26 September. We marked it by promoting the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe. Students of the seventh gradehad an integrated Croatian and English language lesson. In that lesson they compared sayings in these two languages. In groups of 3-4 students, they got the sayings in English cut into half and their task was to merge two parts to get the exact saying.

After you make the clauses in English read to make sure you have the correct connection Pupils got te saying in the Croatian language and try to find the pair with the saying in English language. Finally, the students in the pair choose one sentence and one student draw the line in Croatian, and the other one in the English language.

Dan škole 2018.

U petak, 27. travnja 2018. godine proslavili smo Dan škole te Dan otvorenih vrata. Ovim povodom priređen je bogat program ispunjen raznim športskim aktivnostima i radionicama koje su sa svojim vrijednim učenicima pripremili učitelji.

Omogućili smo učenicima da se za radionice opredijele prema svojim sklonostima. Nakon radionica uslijedila je kratka priredba koju su pripremili :Dramska skupina, učiteljica Renata Lazar; Ritmika, učiteljica Biljana Svrtan i Monolog književnog lika, Nives Lazar i Borna Marković, učiteljica Monika Pančić Simić.

Camping trip for students and teachers On Friday 12th of October our students had first autumn trip together with scouts! With the help of scouts we organized camping, where we learned new things and had fun!

Students learned how to put up a tent, they observed the moon and the stars on the night sky with the telescope and had a hiding/ finding game in the woods! Very nice and exciting new experience for all of us!

Our eco school Primary school Bilje entered the ECO school

project in the year 2ooo. In order to gain ECO school status, and to keep it in the future, we had to deal with ecological questions and issues every two years.

This implied the assessment of the environmental status in regard to the chosen topic, and then making the plan and program of how to change the unacceptable the situation to better. All activities, surveys, and measurements we had to systematically record so that we can show the results at County Meetings of ECO schools.

The status of ECO-school was acquired in 2002 by elaborating the topic of Electricity Saving. We renewed the status: in 2004 with water saving, 2006. with the theme Waste, 2008. with the topic of Healthy Life, and 2010. by dealing with Transport theme. All the topics discussed are kept in the documentation found in the school.

The coordinator of our ECO school all these years has been our biology teacher Herijeta Dodik.

We can say that during all these 10 years of work, all pupils and school teachers demonstrated their imagination and creativity in the realization of content.

Each year, on March 22, on Day of Water, within EKO-SCHOOL, we have a Project Day. On that day we show and present everything we did on the selected topic.

Often, that day is in the form of an integrated day, which means that one topic is dealt with in all subjects, but in different ways. At the end of the working day at school, we organize a round table so that each group presents their work through a brief presentation and the posters createdBeing an ECO school, for 20 years now, is not just a matter of successfully doing the topics and formally raising the Green flag, but much more. this is a life style in which we are all trying to apply what we learned to protect nature by responsible behavior.

Let us not forget that with small ecological steps in our immediate environment we can do a lot for the better future of our Croatia, but also for the whole mankind.

Ethno fair in Bilje Every year there is a traditional Ethno fair in Bilje where local traditions, food, drinks, music and culture are presented to the visitors.

The role of the ethno fair is to preserve, protect and cultivate the cultural and natural heritage of the area.

There are a lot of traditional dishes, food and drinks to be tasted, and also traditional and old sports presented and played, as well as old traditional music and dance.

Two clubs are currently functioning at school, developing not only food preparation students’ skills but also healthy eating habits and lifestyle habits.

CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT Since 2016, our school has been working on the UN's 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals by taking part in UNICEF's "World's Biggest Lesson". In 2017 part of our students have been involved in the Koen Timmers global project - Climate Action Project under the slogan "Let's change the world by bringing it to our classrooms." Our goal was to raise their knowledge of climate change and, above all, to encourage them to take various actions to protect the environment.

SKYPE-A-THON Every year, the school participates in Skype-a-Thon when thousands of students around the world leave their classroom and connect with others around the world through Skype, united by common activities. We have been connected with a guest-speaker from Argentina, Egypt, Hungary.

Our students take part in the Eratosthenes Experiment and calculate the Earth's circumference. Together with another 800 schools all over the world on the day of the Spring Equinox we are part of this exciting international event. They measure the length of the shadow of a one-meter rod, and through certain calculations, they find the Earth's circumference, gaining an idea of a fundamental experience in science.

DRAWING DAY Тhe school takes part annually in Drawing Day. The idea of the International Initiative (since 10 years) is to create 1000 000 drawings in one day. The created works can travel in cities or virtually through social networks on the Internet.

E-TWINNING Since 2007 the school has been working on projects on eTwinning platform - a community of schools in Europe where we communicate, collaborate, develop common projects, and we are part of the most exciting learning community in Europe. We are eTwinning School since 2018.

Every year, we take part in the Safer Cycling Day initiative. There are joint activities at the children's polygon for traffic safety with a fixed signal system.

The great facilities, our beautiful yard with its playgrounds make our school an attractive place for our students. The newly built fitness area as well as the two sports playground give s tudents opportunities for outdoor sports.

We work together with another institution responsible for the future of children the Police. Officers take part in class lessons on topics related to violence prevention, tackling rage

and

aggression, peaceful

resolution of conflicts.

The Culture Centre in the town has been widely opened for every school event and initiative. Our talented students recreate the Bulgarian traditions on the stage.

PROJECTS In 2008 Hristo Smirnenski Primary School stepped to the European stage of education with its participation in the project "Let me see your country through your eyes" under Comenius programme. Since then we have four projects under Comenius and ten projects under Erasmus + programme.

By involving students in international projects, we place the first brick in their construction as successful people in the modern world.
