I found my first inspiration in a museum, Tate Modern. It was graphics article by a group of female artists called themselves, Guerrilla Girls. I was fascinated by their messages. I found it very thought-provoking as it made me think about the world I blindly follow. The poster was about the ugly truth that most people disregard. It forced me to realise the world I was born in, isn’t kind. I started looking for an artist that has worked with graphics such as Tigran Avetisyan, Toogood, Katherine Hamnett, Barbara Kruger and Jenny Holzer. All of them had a different way of working and presenting. I needed a compelling subject to make a statement. I choose the failing of NHS to discuss because NHS is important, but it’s failing. There are lots of reasons for NHS Crisis and one of them can be prevented because the cause is us, the general public. I think we need to learn to appriciete that free service like NHS. People needs to be aware that abusing this service will only harm our future. There are some patients who doesn’t show up on their appointment, some who misplace their medicine and get new one from their repeat prescription again and again. So, I want to launch a collection for this awereness. My plan is to focus heavily on words. My silhouette will be straight because it is the trendiest urban silhouette. I chose to work with all white colour. I don’t have any plan to work with dense texture because I want to focus on words and the heavy texture will do the opposite.

DESIGN STATEMENT

I decided to use words in my design and express exactly how I feel. I wanted a sentence with a strong message like keep calm and carry on. I wanted people to feel guilty of what they innocently did. I had two proposals – ‘Show Gratitude Not Attitude’ and ‘Not Turning Up for Appointment is a Terrible Abuse’. I asked few of my friends which sentence is better suited for my collection. Most of them told me to go for the first one because the second one is very direct and a bit cruel.

She has a younger sibling who is 5 years younger than her that’s why she loves helping people in need. She has been doing charity work since last year. She likes meeting new people and talking about ideas and issues. She likes hearing people’s opinions. She is currently in a dance crew called ‘Prism”. She is very keen about fashion. Usually she likes wearing outfit that is comfortable to wear so that she can dance anytime she wants. She is minimalistic.

Name – Jessica Bello Age – 18 Occupation – Accounting and Finance Hobbies – Social network, rapping, travelling Personality – funny, extraversion, charming, enthusiastic and quirky Jessica Bello is born and raised in London. She loves travelling and learning about that place. She loves fashion and music. She says “They are the ones that makes you unique. It’s the part of your identity.” She is a very funny person who loves to laugh and make other laugh. She is a rapper who has features in many underground music. She shares her view and opinion clearly in her rap.
