My admiration for interior design started at a young age by a dollhouse hobby with my grandmother. With allowing me to interchange the dollhouse looring, wallcoverings, and furniture my grandmother opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of interior design. As I have advanced in my studies at Mississippi State University’s Interior Design Program, I have learned that interior design is much more than pretty colors and selecting furniture. It involves issues of life safety, environmental responsibility, human behavior, and psychology. With the use of my skills I have learned in these subjects I am able to better lives through my designs. The pairing of art and science is what I admire most about interior design. I strive to create simple spaces that have personality and sensitivity. I consider each project unique and I believe that collaboration and communication are the keys to success.

TEAM PROJECT | STUDIO V | FALL 2015 30,000 SF | 6 WEEKS Silver Award: Hospitality Design ASID Student Competition South Central Chapter 2016 To develop a renovation of an 18 level boutique hotel in an up-and-coming city of your choosing. The renovation includes a lobby, restaurant, bar, retail store, guest level, and rooftop. Develop branding for all of these individual spaces. Indie is located in the heart of the music district in Austin, Texas. The hotel's design is inluenced by the experiences created during the many live concerts that drive tourists to Austin. Indie emulates the rapidly changing music scene into a number of musically inspired amenities. Indie's name is derived from independent music and artist. Through the use of saturated colors, lush textures, and rich metallic mixed with chromatic lighting Indie's spaces recreate the electric and energetic environment of a live concert. NOTES
A mirrored column with a black velvet lounge offers interesting relections of its surrounding colors and design elements. The intriguing views created by the column sparks a sense of exploration within guests. This column design was inluenced by a crowd erupting at a live concert. Another interesting design feature in Indie's lobby is a 3form wall with a design created by crackling gold leaf, mimicking shattering glass caused by the vibrations of high pitch sounds.

Soul Seller is Indie's in house record store. Its design is inspired by vinyl records unique sound, that's attributed to the pops and crackles of surface noise created by dust and other natural defects. The ceiling design of Soul Seller is inspired by the spinning rotation of a record while on a turntable. The wallcovering features an interesting texture, much like the grooves of a record. Natural wood and metallic allow modern to mix with vintage, corresponding with Soul Sellers best selection of past and current music.
09
10
NOTES
A metallic gold lighting feature, with linear cut outs along the ceiling and walls is inspired by the neck and strings of a guitar. The contrasting color scheme used in the guest rooms is inspired by the various colors of lighting used at music events, and the metallic is taken from the instruments and equipment used by performers. Indie offers its guests the choice of two unique views of the city. The east facing rooms offer a view of 6th street, the leading live music district in Austin. The north facing rooms offer a view of the Colorado river. Providing these choices allows guests to choose the view that will provide the best experience for their stay.

NOTES G10, in musical terms, is the highest note that has ever been achieved by a person. The design is inspired by the intense sound that is experienced when such high notes are heard. The stacked canopies provide coverage from the sun, without disrupting the city view.
