DEAR READER: As you know, our beautiful peninsula of Cape Cod is a sought-after place to live, work, and visit. We have seen that, given how many tourists come through and how competitive it is to find a house to buy. Even though construction and the skilled trades have their fair share of workforce issues, not just on Cape Cod, but throughout the nation, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod is focused to take on that challenge and meet the need. The Association does this by engaging children through our Children’s Lego Home Building Competition, which is open to the public, and our Residential Construction Career Day, which brings high school students from all the school districts across the Cape and Islands. Lastly, the Association is undergoing a grant process to offer courses for adult learners looking to join the building industry.
