SAIL: The Summer Academy to Inspire Learning is a free program developed and run by the University of Oregon for qualified 8th graders to learn more about and begin preparing for college. The main activity is a week-long day-camp on the campus of the University of Oregon where students will learn subjects like psychology, physics, economics and advertising through interactive experiences, as well as explore campus and college life. Life can take you anywhere -it’s where you choose to SAIL. Please inquire with your counselor about applying for SAIL by June 1, 2009.

1. Economics: Learn about economics through strategy games that include cash prizes! 2. Physics: Learn about the physics of rock climbing while you climb. 3. Psychology: Learn about the psychology of a human brain while you’re touching one. 4. Journalism: Find out how your favorite advertisements are made by professionals who have worked in the industry.
SAIL will be held August 3-7, 2009. Instructions: Please complete this application, fold the brochure with the addressed side as the cover and secure with tape. Mail applications in by June 1st, 2009.

The week at SAIL will also include learning about the college admissions process, including: information in scholarships, applying for financial aid, and applying to colleges.
