Ride Through the Seasons
Take full advantage of the fact that The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway operates year-round, weather permitting, to witness the breathtaking beauty of America’s Mountain in every season.
In the fall, the journey reveals a vibrant tapestry of golds, red-browns, and oranges as aspen groves display their stunning colors.
As winter blankets the landscape, you might catch sight of animal tracks etched in the freshly fallen snow as the train winds through the serene forest on its three-hour round-trip journey.
The 14,115-foot summit offers panoramic views that, on a clear day, stretch across five states. After taking in the awe-inspiring sights, warm up at the City of Colorado Springs’ Summit Visitor Center with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and one of their world-famous donuts.
Summer brings the return of our specially scheduled sunrise trains. It’s worth making a reservation and rising early to watch as the first rays of dawn break the horizon, bathing the mountain in a golden glow—a sight you won’t soon forget. Not only is it a magical experience, but proceeds from these sunrise excursions also support community organizations, including Manitou Springs’ schools, libraries, and first responders.
