or more than a decade, TIG Sports has been active in the game of golf. We started in 2004, under the name ‘This is golf’, as a promoter of the biggest golf event in the Netherlands, the KLM Open.
From the beginning, it has been our ambition to attract a wider audience for golf and golf events and to bring the fans closer to the players. The Dutch Senior Open has been a part of our portfolio since 2010, and in 2016 we added the ING Private Banking Week. TIG has become a unique sports marketing agency. We specialise in creating, innovating and organising major international sports events. Nowadays we are involved in a variety of sports, including beach volleyball, field hockey, rowing, short track ice skating and sailing. We have operated under the name TIG Sports since 2011; felicitous to a multi-sports company with specialists in marketing, project management, creation, PR, online and online communications and sales. However, the game of golf is an integral part of the TIG Sports’ DNA. The KLM Open, the ING Private Banking Golf Week and the Dutch Senior Open have become annual highlights on the sporting calendars in the Netherlands. Not only are we active in the highest level of sports in the game of golf, but we also organise business events. These corporate events activate sponsorships, but they are also set up for personnel and clients. TIG Sports hosts full-service golf days at the most beautiful golf courses in the Netherlands; we are also very experienced with an extensive list of other sports.

The KLM Open is a top sports event set in a beautiful location that lasts four days. The best European golfers battle it out on the most beautiful golf courses for one of the most prestigious trophies of the Netherlands.
THE KLM OPEN IS A TRUE CLASSIC ON THE INTERNATIONAL GOLF CALENDAR. THE TOURNAMENT, THAT STARTED AS THE DUTCH OPEN IN 1912, IS ONE OF THE OLDEST STOPS IN THE EUROPEAN TOUR. THE WALL OF FAME HOLDS SIGNIFICANT NAMES SUCH AS SEVE BALLESTEROS, BERNHARD LANGER, MIGUEL ANGEL JIMÉNEZ AND COLIN MONTGOMERIE.

ome visitors in combination with the prize money and media attention make the KLM Open one of the biggest sports events in the Netherlands. Yearly, over 50 000 golf – and sports fans visit the tournament, plus a live broadcast in over a hundred countries. The KLM Open is more than just a great sports event; it is the leading event on the sports calendar regarding hospitality and event experience. The tournament sets a benchmark for other sports events.

PRO-AMS In the days leading up to the event, visitors have the possibility to experience what it is like to be a pro golfer. During the so-called pro-ams, the professional tour players accompany three amateur golfers, usually sponsor guests. The pro-ams take place on Tuesday will last nine holes whereas the version on Wednesday will last the full 18. Both days will end with a dinner and a prize ceremony, all contestants of the day will receive a prize. Regardless of the result of the match, the experience to golf alongside a professional European-tour player on the official tour course is unique.
CHARITY CHALLENGE The KLM open will last four days; however, the tournament week will already start on Saturday with the Charity Challenge. This particular day traditionally kicks off the KLM Open-week. The contribution of the participating organisations will in its entirety go to the charity in question. Every year personalities from the sports, television and entertainment business join this event. Their charitable effort creates exposure for the charity. In 2016 51 000 euro was raised to contribute to great work of UNICEF.

KLM OPEN RADIO Each day during the KLM Open, a radio channel broadcasts the event from 10am - 6pm. Golf fans won’t miss a single moment of the KLM Open thanks to live reports from the golf course and interviews with Dutch players and other leading figures. In Spijkt and surroundings ‘Sport1 KLM Open’ is broadcasted via FM radio. In 2014, 40,000 people worldwide listened to the live stream on the website and the KLM Open application. Sponsors of the KLM Open are mentioned during commercials or they may
exposure. Business associates are welcomed in VIP lounges and as a sponsor, you have the opportunity to play golf together during the ProAm days before the KLM Open. SPONSORING HOLES The KLM Open is broadcasted worldwide in over one hundred countries and attracts millions of television viewers. In the Netherlands, the tournament will be broadcasted live during all four days on Sport1. The NOS broadcasts the tournament live on tv
Sponsoring one of the holes with boarding on the course is an effective way to publicise and to generate exposure and brand awareness. A hole-in-one prize has an extra attention value. Special, exclusive or spectacular prizes can count on a lot of recognition. In 2014 a sensational prize could be won with a hole-in-one on hole 15; a space journey worth € 100,000. On the last day of the tournament, the prize was actually won. This unique prize could be seen on media coverage worldwide, from the Volkskrant to CNN. ON SIDE TV COMMERCIAL A lifestream of the KLM Open matches will be displayed on 60 different screens across the event area. One of those is a large 24 m2 screen, posted at the final hole. Up to three commercials, per party, can be played on the display during the day. The ads need to delivered in HD quality and can last a maximum of 30 seconds.
