MARKET REDESIGN Academic Project (III Semester)

Brief CHANDIGARHThe Char Bagh concept was used for planning different shops. Centrally located OAT acts as a datum around which everything else is planned. There is provision of ramps everywhere, so that specially abled person can also have access to those places. Clerestorey windows are used for ample use of natural light. Voids have been used for stack effect. There is use of brick jaali for play of light and shadow and also serves aethetic purpose.

OFFICE DESIGN Academic Project (IV Semester)

Brief CHANDIGARHThe concept was based on resilient architecture as the site falls in earthquake prone area. Floor plates are placed staggered above each other. Complex is divided into two wings which are connected through the atrium. Design allows maximum natural light to enter the building through the courtyard and balconies. Fire safety staircase are provided at every 30 metres in case of emergency.

TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE Academic Project (V Semester)

Brief CHANDIGARHThe concept was based on using mud as a building material. Centrally placed stepped well adds the essence of vernacular architecture to the design. Special emphasis on natural lighting and ventilation in the building. A 3m grid using load-bearing pillars and arched or corbelled openings was made with stabilised compressed earth blocks.

SLUM REDEVELOPLMENT Group Project

Brief NEW DELHIThe main concept of the design was to first undertand the problems which arise during slum redevelopment programs in India and what are the factors due to which inspite of many housing policies, the number of slums are increasing day day. Their are many problems related to housing as well like their planning zoning etc. So with our design we try to cater all those issues for building housing which incorporates the interest of people living there.

11 ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION EWS design showcases complex interaction and communal spaces. The design provides the provision for Open Floor Plan which gives them the freedom of planning of spaces which fulfil their basic needs and reqiurements. A provision of incremental space as well as community building space has been provided to incorporate the spill over which are basic character of slum. The cluster of organic planning allows light and ventilation in each house and also provides community spaces.

12 LOWER INCOME GROUP LIG households follow a elementary lifestyle pattern. A common verandah for every two units has been provided for congregational purposes. They share recreational spaces with second household chores. A corner window has been been provided on the entrance which gives a clear view from the kitchen as well as the living and drawing room of the people coming in the house. Puncture in the central wall of the staircase is provided to enhance vertical interaction among the users.

13 MIDDLE INCOME GROUP MIG households leads a life of self relaince and their activities occur mostly within the house.Their social interaction is limited to the neighbouring households. They desire better amenities and a correct balance of living and bedroom spaces to carrry out their daily activities. The form follows function,so the circulation can be easily judged by just looking at the building. The lobby has been treated with glass facade to bring in light and it provides a view of open community spaces.This creates a lively atmosphere and acts as a congregational space at various times of the year.

14 HIGH INCOME GROUP HIG households live extremely luxurious and extravagent lifestyle, so they require spacious bedrooms and leisure spaces within their homes. The module is luxurious and well finished to create a feeling of oppulence, spaciousness and grandeur. A spacious living room connected to the terrace, which becomes multipurpose space. The HIG planning strategy promoted privacy and minimum interaction. Terraces have been used to full extent to provide views to every room and corner of the house.
