TAFE MAKERSPACE
DESIGN STATEMENT The intent is to create a modern, functional, collaborative learning and producing environment with generous open spaces, interconnected indoor and outdoor areas, and a minimal ecological footprint. The dwelling design uses similar materials and forms of the surrounding buildings; however, it becomes a unique and remarkable part of the TAFE facilities and organically integrates into the surrounding landscape. The passive design principles, sustainability, and building longevity should be taken as a priority in the design approach.

OXLEY PARK TOWNHOUSES
DESIGN STATEMENT The intent is to create a collection 6 boutique town homes. 3 bed, 2.5 bath, and 2 cars. It will be a newly crafted community offering an ideal balance between private retreat and communal connectivity. Each unit should emphasise light and space at every turn. A philosophy of balancing design excellence with superior functionality should be evident within each home.
EXTERIOR A blend of natural timber, powder coated aluminium and James Hardie ‘Matrix’ and ‘Axon’ will clad the exterior of the townhouse. Natural timber boards dress the entire lower level, helping to visually ground the building and allowing for a nice contrast to the nearby planting. Wrapping around the entirety of the building is a white powder coated aluminium batten providing much needed screening from the harsh sun to the west, and offering privacy to the northern balconies.
INTERIOR An interior palette of fresh white walls, muted green accents and brushed brass combined with natural timber floors, concrete look tiles and custom made timber joinery convey a sense of cleanliness, luxury and comfort in these light filled townhouses. Anchored by central stairwell that becomes another furniture item, the three top-level bedrooms all have natural wool-blend carpet while the exterior spaces on all levels feature a ‘crazy pave’ tile that is smooth underfoot.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
DESIGN STATEMENT The intent is to create a modern and functional family residence with generous open spaces, interconnected indoor and outdoor areas, and a minimum ecological footprint. The dwelling should use similar materials and forms of the buildings in the character overlay. The passive design principles, sustainability, and building longevity should be taken as a priority in the design approach.

OFFICE SPACE
DESIGN STATEMENT The intent is to create a modern, functional, and collaborative design firm working environment with generous open spaces, interconnected formal and unformal areas, and a minimal ecological footprint. The minimalist approach to be used in interior design to allow maximum flexibility and adaptivity of the space in the future. The surfaces with minimum finishes or, alternatively, no finishes, and sustainable materials will become a main feature of the office space. The passive design principles, sustainability, and materials longevity should be taken as a priority in the design approach.
